Brandon Powell

Hahaha, this is great. SPROLES doesn't weigh much either, but he's like 5'5", so he is built like a bowling ball. Just putting a weight down is stupid as sin.

1. Noel Devine 5'8 175
2. Shane Vereen 5'9 170
3. Jeff Demps 165 5'8
4. Jemery Avery 5'9 169

Brandon Powell is 5'9 170

is that better?

Again, certain body types carry weight different than others.

You can have two people who are 5'10 and 185 pounds, and physically their bodies can be completely different, and they can both have different abilities to gain weight and hold it properly.

This is not that difficult. You can't just look at height and weight and say, "OH BOY, THEY'RE THE SAME!!!!"

You do that, and it makes you look stupid. Quit trying to make yourself look stupid.

See that where you're wrong, I didnt name anyone who have different built than Powell other than Rodgers.

Noel Devine, Jeremy Avery, Dexter Mccluster, Chris Johnson and Powell all have similar built.

Demps and Vereen can be a bit of a stretch.

Notice I did not say names like Rice, Sproles, Jones Drew etc.

Someone like Powell's speed, balance, and vision should stay on the offense side of the ball IMO.

Will agree that those are solid examples of kids with similar body types. I think the part we are not seeing eye to eye on is Powell's actual speed and burst. I will agree that if you have someone with elite game breaking speed, 8/10 times you put the ball in that kid's hands, I just dont see the that game breaking speed out of Powell you see in others such as C Johnson or Tavon Austin. I see very good speed and very good athleticism. Like DMoney said, the kid has the skills to contribute as a RB sparingly and will if need be but he can be a quality full time DB. I just see a higher value for him at DB. I dont see see McCluster or C Johnson, just an honest assessment.

Noel Devine was also one of the strongest players, pound for pound, I've ever seen in college. Truly a freak and not a single ounce of that bodyweight was inside his skull. Really wish he would have thought things through a little more thoroughly. Fun player to watch though

we don't need elite speed and balance at cb?

That's why the defense isn't worth a ****. Definitely need more speed and athletes.

Pecos the Diver, when this kid actually had to go toe to toe with athletes just as good as him he had a hard time. Not because of speed or agility. He just couldnt take the pounding. You are thinking this kid is like 185. Hes not. He MIGHT be 175. Listen to ya boy when I tell you buddy reminds me of Greg Reid. Yeah he COULD be a good RB for us. But he could be a GREAT CB. JMO. And if we get DC there wont be a need for him at RB.

But there will be a need at DB. He will be a RS-Fr when Tracy/A.Crawford and Hope are seniors. Burns will be a JR and if you let folks on here tell it they expect him to leave early. So thats FOUR DBs gone that year alone. (Tracy COULD leave early next year also)

Point being, He has a higher ceiling and the need is more at DB.

Good post. I am in the camp of letting him bulk up and be a RB, but I could definitely see CB

Happy Feet aka BP will start at Rb... I've spoke with him personally and he says coaches assured him that no matter who else we bring in, he is a Rb

Hopefully he can be put at the position they feel is his best, not the one needed because of depth. If CB is where he can be elite, put him there and let him return kicks as well.

I hope it works out for him there then.

I do hope the coaches are telling them what they want to hear though too. Like when Xavier Rhodes wanted to play WR and not DB and we told him DB only. fsu told him what he wanted to hear and landed him and moved him a year later.

uummm can people please stop with this Greg Reid comparison bs.

Like who the f*ck is a greg reid??..a **** nobody....like he was some star or something..

BP is a running back through and through...and after a year through UTOUCH should be a solid 5'8-5'9 185-10- which is what we need him at as i think the kid just will be an explosive guy....he mightnot shirt as we can use him on kr/pr right now imo.

At cb dont think he is as needed...sure he can play it imo...but i like the kid more on offense.

People making mistakes comparing to this guy to Dallas Crawford just because they're both short. This dude's a way better RB than Dallas. I'd sure as **** give him a chance to play RB. Not like we're stacked at that position anyway, and he's a TD waiting to happen. I don't like his body type all that much at CB anyway.
