Brad kaaya, we have a qb!

Has a lot of Ken Dorsey in him. Better arm, not as good of pocket presence right now. Overall ahead of Dorsey at same stage, but very close.

I agree with you, love his mental make-up, he throws some picks, nearly every freshman does, but he seems to learn from his mistakes and doesn't let them take him off his game.

I realize it's been brought up in other threads and cincy has a **** defense but man does this kid impress me for a true freshman. His performance and the running of duke Johnson are about the only reason I'm still watching the games.

The kid has poise in the pocket, his arm strength is adequate and should improve with strength and conditioning and his work ethic is what we have been missing for a while. That and he tends to really grasp things quickly and apply a what he learns on the field.

I understand the mood around here is negative, as it should be with the **** we've seen on defense the last 4 years, but at least seeing this your kid grow up will be fun to watch.

He's going to be a good one, but I think we're going to have a hard time keeping him from transferring (eventually)back to Cali if this chit show continues much longer.

How ridiculous. There's mopery, and then there's pure asinine stupidity. So now Kaaya is likely to transfer? Really? Based on what, your whining?
Exactly. He aint goin anywhere

I'm curious how he handles Blacksburg on a Thursday night. That's he kind of defense that will give a dream fits, I want to see the poise and determination to keep us in the game.

Agreed but don't be surprised if we get a Kehoe Special.....

He is BY FAR the best we've had at the position in a long time. Don't forget that he's a true freshmans. The progressions and throws he's making are better than anybody we've had here since Dorsey. And it's only going to get better. Enjoy him

He's good. Now I wanna see him take a game over or make some clutch throws, against a good team, on the road. I wanna see if he's ready for "prime-time".

Thursday day night against VT I we will see.

You mean, you want him to do Junior/Senior QB things as a true freshman?

Sounds like you have realistic expectations.

Yeah that's what separates "good" from "great." Johnny Manziel, Jameis Winston, Tim Tebow, Christian Hackenburg, & others stepped up and won games on the road. Sophmore or freshman seasons.

Umm the freshman seasons were redshirt not true freshman seasons, just saying. Don't get me wrong we should always demand the most out of anybody, but let's also have the intelligent logical perspective based on historical data. Just sayin

Half those guys redshirted or weren't starting their true freshman season, to boot

He's having a better season than hackenburgh IMO.

What really impresses me is his ability to buy time in the pocket by stepping up, side stepping the outside edge rushers and deftly buying those extra precious split seconds in the pocket. The one that comes to mind was the 4th down TD to waters against duke. He hung in there until the last possible split second.

That pocket presence/awareness is really unbelievable for a true freshman. Yeah, he offers zero in terms of athletic ability to scramble or avoid a rush but that pocket awareness is just as valuable, IMO.

Tom Brady has nothing athletically either but has that I ate ability to slide away from pressure. That's what I hope kaaya continues to work on and develop.
