Step away from the AD/Coach discussion for second and lets think about what else needs to happen to get Miami back to the top. First, we need talent. The School and some successful folks are committing more resources ($) to the program. That is awesome but Boosters need to hirer players, including those in the class of '22, to promote their businesses so we can attract talent from other programs. Miami is city of many resources and The U should not be behind when it comes to NIL money to the likes of Bama and others. Bryce Young had nearly $1 million in NIL deals before the start of the season. This team needs talent in key positions. Whether it comes from the portal or high school, large deals need to start happening. I also hope major deals find there way to the existing key players so they decide to stay, especially given all the admin/coaching uncertainty. NIL allows us to play the bag game with the SEC, so lets play.

Second, I hope the new energy by school administration leads to an improvement in getting people to go to the games. For students, they should have a school paid over the top tail gate at each home game and provide free parking. They should also heavily discount tickets for various groups in the community and even give out charitable group tickets, especially for lower demand games. They can still make some money on these folks through concessions. The Team seems to go a good job with charity work but they might be able to do more to build relationships to get more folks interested. Yes, I am sure some you will reply, just win and people with show up. That is true, but they won't show up until late in the year. I am telling you, top players want to play in front of people. Getting people to the games is an important element to getting better talent. This is one of several reasons why we see some top FL talent leave the state.

Great ideas.
What will you do to make it happen?
Have you attempted to contact anyone with the checkbook?
Have you bought season tickets, etc?

Winning fixes everything

The right AD and HC can win here… and win BIG in this average ACC conference

If Jurich and Mario/Kiffin are in place… watch the money and season ticket buyers come rolling in
This team was projected to win 9-12 games this season and the NIL money going into it was not great.

King also signed a million $ NIL deal before the season. We have a booster who signed every player on the team to a deal. Not sure how to figure out where Miami stands compared to other schools regarding NIL. We may be doing better than u think. We do know UM has been actively helping players in this regard.

Also.. you were right. Win and the stadium will be full.

Stadium will never always be full in Miami. People show up for events, not games.

2001 squad was back on top and #1 in the land—you still had 30,000-something at the beloved Orange Bowl for Temple that year.

Fans will show up for FSU, a decent out of conference foe, or a good ACC team theoretically in the hunt—No. 13 Virginia Tech (7-1) back in 2017, at night and a week before No. 3 Notre Dame also headed south to play unbeaten Miami—but no one was showing up for that dog of a game against the 5-5 Hokies, even if Miami was 8-2, as it wasn't an "event".

Win and enough fans will be on board giving a ****, with more games turning into "events"—but Miami will never see the kind of support other schools see. Need to just get over that and accept it.

Random question but are NIL‘s supposed to be motivators in general? Ie, why did Pope give up his NIL min $500 a month to head to Jacksonville State and not work his *** off for those funds? excuse me if nonsensical post

Not sure I am aware King got that much, maybe. But what is in the pipe line for Shemar Stewart?

all true, but the new AD can try to improve the situation instead of doing nothing

Not clear he gave it up. Depends on what the contract said. If Pope did not previously redshirt he did not lose a year of eligibility. That is worth 500 a month. What makes ZERO is G. Hall leaving the team.

Manny was on the hot seat before the NIL thing opened up.

If you aren’t winning you gotta sell optimism and potential…. Manny had zero to offer

seriously, stick to another thread regarding the Coaching situation.

They should be giving tickets away to all youth leagues no matter the sport and school kids who make certain grades…with every one of those free tickets you end up with a parent/guardian that’s buying to bring them plus you’re making a ton of money off parking and concessions…plus you’re gaining fans for future years as well as getting young kids that become football studs in HS to look at Miami first when it comes to recruiting…

Goes to the old saying “ spend a dime..make a dollar “…

Bingo

Miami is a national brand. Winning sells swag all over the country. Winning gets all the band wagon jumpers buying hats and jackets. Something they are not doing now.
