When we were looking for a coach, Butch was available. He wanted to come back badly and have a redo on the biggest career mistake of his life. There has never been a better evaluator in the college game and he knows how to develop players. I wanted him. The school thought they could do better and were a little leery of the stuff that went down at UNC. He’s been cleared from all of that, but the school just wouldn’t forget it and were afraid because of the stuff we went under during Golden that was caused by Coker and Shannon.

I know I know, I need to drink bleach or however that goes, but even some of you anti-Butch guys know that in year 3, Butch would've had this team in a much stronger position than we were in tonight.

I wanted Butch badly, but was happy with Richt. However, Richt's loyalty to Rosier is **** near as bad as Golden's to Coach D.

Butch is also overcooked at this point, but I would have taken him over corch Rick.

UCLA won the coaching lottery. THAT guy here would have been a proper move.

To build a team with 31 scholarship reductions - that could have played for a National Championship in 2000, won in 2001, and really won in 2002 except for a really bad call - he fit in Miami.

He did the bulk of recruiting and player assessments for JJ, and then for himself - and set up Clappy -

Butch would have hired an offensive coordinator.

His loyalty to his ****** assistants
Rumph and Dugans can stay. Simpson is new, so I give him a pass for now. The rest.... goodbye. Diaz is a fraud, and if Richt doesn't bench Rosier immediately, he is as well. If he's starting him because of his experience, then **** it, get the young guys some experience.

either you guys didn't watch football from 98-2000 or you have amnesia, but the butch davis i remember was a horrible gameday coach. we'd be having the same conversation today if butch was here. and his coordinators were ****, which lead to his horrible game day performance. just stop already. he'd make a great recruiting coordinator but his coaching sucked.

Hartley needs to stay as tight end coach and recruiting purposes

Oh, I lived through those moments and was very frustrated many times during that span. But, he continued getting better and he would build such incredible players and teams that it would compensate for his gameday shenanigans.

What I said about where we'd be tonight is true. We would've been better prepared for tonight's game.

When I heard it was Richt, I was happy and wanted to be happy because I root the Canes and hoped for the best, but I wanted Butch and so far, sadly, it looks like the school made the wrong decision.

Hartley can stay, but just as a recruiter. Richt is doing it to himself by not realizing that even if Rosier somehow gets marginally better and we win the ACC coastal, we have a - 10% chance of beating Clemson with Rosier. Only thing that gives us even the tiniest chance is if we get a transcendent qb under center. I know for **** sure that isn't Rosier. I think it could be Williams. But if Richt doesn't deflate his ego and realize he made a mistake with Rosier, then we are going to have another disappointing end to the season and will be starting someone with zero game experience next year when we should be better positioned to make a push for the playoffs. It's just incredibly frustrating to know we are spinning our wheels. I'd rather take the chance of going 8-4 with Williams or Perry and see if they are the answer then going 10-2, winning the ACC coastal and getting blown out in the ACC championship game. If the two youngsters aren't capable, then either find your elite QB recruit or find a QB transfer. We're wasting our time with Rosier.

If Rosier knows the O, but absolutely can not execute it, why not change the O to where a talented guy can run it? It means nothing if the O sucks with the guy that knows every **** thing about it. And if, IF poor QB play is holding back your precious O, maybe try a different QB! If that QB sucks in your O, well, maybe it's time to look in the mirror and see where the problem really lies.

The fact that he wasn't let go of ST duties tells me we have another case of Golden levels type loyalty. That was by far the easiest call to make and he sat on his hands. Disturbing, really.
Special teams was fine in 2016. Last year sucked and this year is off to the same start. All starts with Feagles.

Dont forget John Richt.

Its worse than that.

Richt has a history of keeping poor DCs too long.

So if Manny continues to stink it up......

If I were king of the world: right now Lincoln Riley makes 5 million per year. Offer him 7 million to come to Miami. 2 million is chump change when you think about how much revenue winning a championship will bring to the school.
