Been saying this for months
This is what happens when you hire someone to run your athletic department who was never an athlete.

Going to disagree there. I think you want a business person in that role first. Athlete is fine. But for every Ozzie Newsome there is a Matt Millen. James professional background is almost exclusively upper northeast. He came from Maine I believe where Im sure he did wonders for their Division Nobody Gives a **** Hockey and Curling teams.
I also would like to see some kind of private sector background for the AD position. However, I understand that is the exception not the norm.
Ice should be the coach

One of the worst posts I've ever read.
What the F#@k has Ice done to deserve a HC job at any major D1 program? Let alone UM(who he trashed publicly on the radio just 2 years ago).
If Ice can't help secure some of these south FL studs then he serves no purpose here, and so far he hasn't done **** for our recruiting locally or nationally.
Sorry, but I have never been a fan of his since that BS he pulled 2 years ago, and I def don't think he deserved a spot on our staff.
I kind of only want him on our staff b/c he would get picked up by another staff and I have a feeling he would be raking in all the South FL studs for teams like F$U/UF/BAMA/L$U etc.. but for some reason he can't do **** for our ability to keep these kids home. WTF?
I know what most will say, "just wait till the next few classes", but we need help in this class bad, and not one recruit that I can remember has mentioned him other than Walton.

He comes back no renewal in season tixs. Since the AD does not care about winning I keep my hard earned money.

Good point. for them, the bottom line is really the bottom line.
At the end of the statement Blake says: “We’ve seen significant growth [with donations] even though we haven’t had the type of success we’ve had historically [on the field],”

I disagree obviously. I think you need someone that has bled in competition at some point. They have to understand what the student athlete is going through.
I would rather have a butch dyke ex-swimmer with a BA in Gender Studies than a Magna *** Whatever marketing major running things. And yes I do have a couple degrees.

I was thinking more someone who understood and was experienced in putting financial deals together.
Most Athletic Directors epitomize the adage that good is the enemy of great. My concern, like most on here, is that UM Admins suffice with 8 to 9 wins a year with an occasional 10 win season every five years. Straight phuckery in my opinion.
Good is and always has been the enemy of great.
