Blake James on Packer & Durham

First appearance this week. Didn’t seem stressed or uncomfortable. Pretty much a nothing burger.

Durham asked about the bye week and Blake deflected to talking about other sports.

Packer asked about Herbstreits comments and Blake responded with the same rhetoric as Manny almost verbatim.

Durham suggested letting the season play out and Blake responded Diaz was focused on UNC and there’s no easy games left.

More time was spent on Blake’s opinion on the CFP than any other subject.

On a positive note, this was the 15th straight semester all UM student athletes averaged a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.

After the commercial break, both Packer and Durham defended both Blake and Frenk concerning Kirk’s comments noting Frank’s leadership during the pandemic last year. Where have we heard that before.

Sounds like putting the “E before the W” to me.

Even the public humiliation of the entire athletic program means nothing to this school. Even the face of the department being dragged through social media doesn’t matter. If all the L’s on the column in all of the different sports hasn’t mattered in years then why should it matter now.

When a person shows you who they really are……believe them the first time.

This school keeps showing us their true colors while talking out of their *** for over 20 years and got lucky with Butch after they threw the program to the wolves.
It’s all bullsht!! The tweets the insiders all the Lonzo and the right people nonsense.
It’s all bs. Manny and Blake look like he’s here until the wheels fall off. Idk what crazy deal they made or who’s protecting them. But no way they fire a coach with a week left until a big conference game.
They have dirty pictures..

People in here are really saying Packer and Durham are out to get Miami lmao. If you aren’t laughing and making fun of how bad this team has been, then you’re the blind homer. The fact that they had Blake on and didn’t ask if Manny was going to be fired or if he was worried about his own job status, is proof that they don’t care at all about Miami.

“In my eyes due to the leadership of our president, aka Julio Frenk going on record as an expert in infectious diseases and saying, ‘Not only can we have school on campus and the students on campus,’ which is not a widely held belief at that time, ‘But we can play a college football season.’ That would be a strong take for someone that didn't really seem that interested in athletics,” Diaz said. “Those two things don't really add up.”

This is one of the most disingenuous statement this University continues to pander. Frenk did not save CFB in 2020, as this University is trying to allude to. In fact, Frenk on several occasions when asked directly regarding this matter, said “we sure hope so.” The ACC came together, COLLECTIVELY, among all the school’s President along w/ Swofford & put together a plan as to make it happen. I also noticed how they conveniently left out the SEC, b/c it was actually Sankey who led the charge & Sankey also was the one who reached out to the PAC-12 & B1G to see what were their reason for not wanting to play the season.

So enough w/ this bull chit, that ppl relied upon Frenk’s “expertise.” He gave his opinion on the matter & it was taken into consideration along w/ the other President’s input.

The answer coming from Blake or the Admin will always be the same - they will pivot right back to COVID, the new dorms (which had NOTHING to do with athletics, other than they allocate a portion to the athletes), and the IPF. They are fundraising for the locker room renovations - that's not automatically happening.

No one has directly asked about coaching hires. It's like the elephant in the room. Everyone KNOWS that's a big part of what Herbstreit was referring to but no one wants to say it publicly. And the Admin and Blake are not going down that path unless absolutely forced to. Even then, they will only defend the choice.

Coordinated talking points. They are all hunkered down. What a massive disrespect to the fan base and student body.

Bunch of losers. If they would’ve done the job the way that it should’ve been done they wouldn’t be in this situation in the first place.

Agreed and what they aren't saying is the reason behind actually wanting to play last year. It's that ACC check. Miami doesn't actually care about winning and that is what Herbie was getting at. He wasn't saying that Miami doesn't want to play. They want to play because they want those ACC checks. That's their bottom line. But they aren't committed to making Miami a winner and it's obvious to everyone.

Thank you! Let’s keep it a buck; it had chit to do w/ the team, & everything to do w/ lining their pockets.

The irony is, if they actually invested in the football program, they wouldn’t have to beg for money, as it would pay for itself many times over. How much of the football programs revenue funds other things? “The U” is football created, so that marketing funds other areas…such as “U Med”. Where does the other revenue go…ACC money, adidas money? Sales on U items etc?

I love that all the student-athletes at the U average above a 3.0. But let’s not act like the literal athletic director is directly impacting that.

The only respectable skill he has aside from kissing *** is fundraising, which this program would do in its sleep with competently run programs.

People really have trouble using literal, literally correctly.

I don’t see how James survives this. Supposedly our bot are business leaders. I don’t know that, but supposedly. If they run this anything like a business, he’s toast.

James is essentially a middle manager.

The fans are calling for his head. The local media is running negative stories. The national media has called out the entire organization. Donors are ****ed. Oh…and we’re losing a ton of games and have a terrible recruiting class on paper.

No chance a middle manager survives when all of your customers want you fired, and the national press is running hit pieces on you, AND your product objectively sucks.

He’ll be gone.
