Blake Baker on LSU DC Hotboard

No Corey Raymond love? Somethin in the milk ain't white!
While you're bull****ting, just a reminder Coach Orgeron never was a coordinator in over 30 years.

In your defense, he is a coon-*** wife beater.. but still, it does happen.

Not a Blake fan but he’s no where near the top of the list when it comes to underperforming assistants On this staff.

Watch buddy leave and have those athletes and kill it lol. Fans here will say it was Manny defense...I would agree but the reason he would kill it at LSU would be cause of athletes.
Your right. Was drop off from a couple places: the dline interior, edge control and the secondary. A 4-3 Defense without a playmaker on that interior who can eat constantly And cause havoc can get u gashed..with that said imagine Tryna play complimentary Defensive football with this offense

Don't want to take Baker's side at all, but think some people underestimate the impact the HORRENDOUS offense had on a defense. We had more 3 and outs than anyone... Actually we ranked #129 in the nation for 3rd down conversion percentage (.272) in front of the mighty Akron offense.

This means our defense was on the field a lot. Again some things are inexcusable(!!!!), but we still managed to have a solid defense on paper and the field.

Not saying Baker is great or LSU material, but I feel like sometimes we just bash our defense because we hate the state of the program.

Could be true.

Stoutland and Pannunzio went to Alabama after here.

A quality HC can make a major difference on the career of the asst. coaches and players.

Y'all sleep on Baker but the coaching circles know what's up.

Blake Baker knows the Louisiana area well as he was a former LA Tech DC. Makes perfect sense for them. Elite recruiter, elite defensive mind. He constructed the LA Tech defense that shut out Miami in their bowl game. He is also the protege of the greatest defensive mind in CFB history, Manny Diaz. Would be a huge loss here.

The issue isn’t necessarily the performance on D, we know they’re hindered by inept offense. The defense is far from elite but above average.

The real issue with the D is on money downs, and also the staff’s lack of recruiting, because it foreshadows worse defenses in the coming years.

Copied and pasted on the LSU boards.

Who knows, maybe Baker does go and it opens the door for Charlie Strong to come in.... It's highly doubtful for sure but anything is possible...
