He is faster than them. He might have been the fastest back when Duke was on the roster his junior year too or just a tad behind him. Regardless he's 6'2 240 running like that , that's impressive IMO

Relax chise, I'm not dogging Gus. He just has done nothing up to this point to earn his nickname. This whole drill was about staying low and not exposing your body to contact. That's why you see Gus routinely get blown up in the hole instead of delivering the blow.

Gus is in okay back and one we can win with but he is not the best back on the roster.

With a nickname like the bus, I don't know why more people aren't commenting about how he didn't knock the bar over.

As someone else said, get back to me on game day basically.

As another said, I still don't understand the hype by some for a player who has been underwhelming to this point. I don't think he brings anything special to the field, but if he does I'll be pleasantly wrong should it happen.

I don't want to blame these guys for sleeping on Gus. They've been disillusioned by years and years of poor and sometimes backward player development. They don't want a 3-star from the northeast to be better than one of the most prolific high school backs in Dade County history. Perryman laid him out in practice a lot. It all makes sense.

All our backs are "incomplete", so the thinking is you use them in the situations where they are most capable. And Gus is very capable.

No way. Gus is garbage. He got tackled on a play fake where he was off balance, and he hit a bar on a stupid drill.
 
Funny... guys use the same overblown "3.5 ypc" crap to downgrade Walton but get mad when people talk about the full review of game film(plus a 2 second clip) to downgrade Gus.
