Watch your boy with his slow feet cling the top of the bar with his helmet as he can't get low enough when asked to explode through the drill. And watch my boy T. Homer make the drill look effortless. Are you sure that's the back you think is the best on the Roster?

this what happens when brothers and sisters procreate....talkin bout OP

Sad ish when dudes start threads claiming a player to be the next coming THEN get their panties in a twist when threads are created against that notion.

Fuqin pansies.

Take your ball and go home.

Lol@ OP guess u didn't hear Joe Yearby hit the bar also... Lol he's 5'8 maybe he runs too high also and oh yeah mark Walton hit the net...maybe he has bad feet???

Lol @ OP wanting. A 6'1 235 pound running back to have same foot quickness as Yearby !!! Lol come on pimp I guarantee u Gus is faster then Yearby or Walton in the 40

I saw Yearby hit the post as well, see my previous comment. Gus has good straight line speed but that does nothing if he can't get past the line of scrimmage because his feet are too slow to find the hole. And Gus might be faster in a 40 than Yearby but probably equal to Walton. Lets wait until both are measured properly at the NFL combine or UM pro day. At that time they will be at the same point in their career.

As far as Gus being a tall back, there are plenty of tall backs that make that running through that drill look quick and easy regardless of height because they know how to keep their hips low while picking up their feet.

I like Gus, but i understand everyone frustration with a big powerful guy running soft........ ion think they hating just tough love

I've gotta put myself in this camp as well. I dont hate any kid who chooses to sign with UM but Ive simply never seen anything from Gus Edwards that would lead me to believe he can be a productive back against the top teams on our schedule.

So when Vern says he' the fastest back on the team its proving our point. He's 6'2 240 & also the fastest on the team. Usually with a combination like that a player would do something on the field. Gus. Nothing.

Not too many running backs measuring 6'1 240 hitting the hole very quickly not named Todd Gurley.. Just STop It I can name a dozen who had succesful college anf NFL careers

Lol might be faster then yearby?? Have you not seen the recorded times the UM athletic department has put out over the past 2 years? Gus and Choc have been the fastest back with Gus running a 4.51 in 2014 and a 4.57 more recently... the same stop watches timed Walton in the high 4.6's and Yearby at a 4.7. I dont why your talking about ages that makes no sense...at 19 years old Gus is faster then Walton at `9 years old He will always be faster..they were being measured at the same track same timer WTF are you talking about here?

Sad **** when UM fans are starting threads on a stupid drill to dog current UM players in order to make themselves look right about their evaluations.

Relax chise, I'm not dogging Gus. He just has done nothing up to this point to earn his nickname. This whole drill was about staying low and not exposing your body to contact. That's why you see Gus routinely get blown up in the hole instead of delivering the blow.

Gus is in okay back and one we can win with but he is not the best back on the roster.

This ain't dogging him? What the fck would be dogging him in your eyes?

It's called having a joke with a poster who refers to GUS as THE BUS, relax. Why are you of all people getting worked up over a nickname?

When he runs over one person, I will call him the BUS until that point, Nah!

If we're talking on field production, Yearby is far and away the best back on the roster. I think they all bring something to the table and it's a shame "fans" take so much pride in knocking onef our own players. We've seen two years of decent production from Edwards on limited snaps and last season he was hurt. How about we hold back on anointing him or trashing hom until he gets a few more carries.

Gotta love our fans. Nothing gets them off more than ragging on our players. I love when people start threads and make concrete conclusions based on practice drills. It's the whole backup qb is everyone's favorite player thing. They will find reasons to hate Homer soon enough.

Gus's problem was never speed it was the fact that he's a big back but doesn't play like one. Straight up scared of contact, terrible pad level, I mean he's got 4 inches and 25 pounds on all the other backs yet he's the worst power back of them all. It's sad that Yearby and Waltin are better at being power backs then Gus.

LOL 2 years behind Duke and last year he missed the enitre season in 2015, What did you want to see?Yet he had more explosive runs then Walton in the same amount of carries against the same ****** ACC teams... I never claimed that Gus Edwards was Leveon Bell... But in a I formation or single back offense Gus is a better option running the ball then Walton or Yearby... Even though I feel YEarby is the most talented runner he is just too slow

Guys be careful I just received a infraction from canesinsight. Bunch of Drake *** nikkas. I'm going to start calling this site Canadiansite.com

A kid with his size and speed could actually win us big games if he ever put it all together. I've messed with Vern plenty about Gus, but I'm pulling hard (giggity) for him to step up. He's got the physical gifts you rarely see.

I haven't seen the 40 times posted this year. If you have them please post. The last 40 time I saw was when Gus posted a 4.57 sometime in his junior year. But you have to consider, Gus has been in college strength and conditioning program much longer than Walton. The only way you can truly and accurately judge their true forty time is by comparing them with the same variables.

Same can be said for Mark Walton. Mark Walton ran for 150 times last year and didn't have a run over 29 yards Gus the bus has had multiple runs over 30 yards on a limited amount of carries

Not gonna write the kid off yet because the potential is clearly there. For whatever reason he just has'nt put it all together yet. Hopefully before he leaves, he does.

Why do ppl compare a 6'2 240lb rb to 5'9 rbs?? Smh he's a different type of back, and a very good one, he runs up right bc that's what big rbs do??? He doesnt have the quickest feet bc he's not Joe Yearby or Warrick Dunn??

/ the question marks mean I don't understand why the obvious has to be explained???

Couldn't have said it better myself. It's a **** drill and that 1" high doesn't mean the kid won't be an effective back. Eric ****erson would have been decapitated by this drill with his running style and look how he turned out.
