Miami still would have had to finish the 1988 ND game with a win, win then the remainder of their games, including a bowl win over West Virginia. Miami would have had to beat Oklahoma in the rain in 2000 NC game. These two errors cost Miami an opportunity for a national championship. We presume this outcome but still would have had to accomplish it.
Miami is celebrating a 6th NC and consecutive undefeated NCs had it not been for that call against Ohio State in 2002. Game over.
