Big update from Herald

On top of him having zero reason to leave his kush job now, he probably laughed at the idea of being paired with someone who would oversee football.
Correct. Not to mention that the worst incarnation of Clemson won 9 games this season and possibly 10 with a bowl win, something we have only done once in what, 20 years? lol

If they are qualified...and Zo is , there is no issue. If they are hired just because of the ties, then there is then problem. In my opinion
Zo is not qualified, hence they need admin support.

There isn’t another power 5 school in the country that would hire him as AD. If we are making decisions solely on his past ties to UM, that’s the wrong decision.

Every department needs a bureaucrat that knows the rules and can make sure the books are straight. Considering her resume, that seems to be where her talents are best used.

If I had my choice, the whole department would be cleaned out. But this is UM so…
Bureaucrats yuck. The grossest word in the world

You nor I have any idea about his involvement, or lack thereof, or mitigating factors, or what the details are of the problem with Jurich, if any.

Why is why you do background and use search firms. It's a fair concern, but stop pretending you or anyone else knows a thing about him. As of yesterday you couldn't say his name out loud to save your life.

This is a microcosm of message board lunacy. Everyone just fills in each gap in the puzzle (which is basically the grand canyon) with what they want to think and then attacks as if they are even slightly informed.
Living in New Orleans and having close connections to a lot of the bigger boosters you’d be surprised what I know about the LSU program….and yes I do know what his part was in it and what he was accused of.

Now as far as what the problems are with Jurich no I don’t know particulars other than what was written at the time and that he was cleared of all charges.

No idea why any of you want any of these former players anywhere near the athletic department.

What serious coach wants to deal with these guys telling them who to play, recruit, etc?
The amount of legitimate ADs we must be scaring away by telling them they'd have to run their decisions by Zo is going to be the nail in the coffin for this program.

Neither are qualified to be the AD..

At least Zo has been involved in some parts of a football operation so I’m fine if he’s running the FB program UNDER an experienced AD but as far as Gino I love the guy as a football player but how does running a radio station or whatever he was doing give him experience with running a FB program even under an AD none the less with no one to direct him.

Again, I never said they should be AD's in charge of the entire athletic department.

The football ops guy, they are considering per OP, is going to be responsible for more than just shaking babies and kissing hands after he gets a staff in place. Finances, fund raising, planning, etc. Gino has a long business background in this, yeah it isn't football but he does have that experience, knows football extremely well, is well liked, a good leader, etc.

Again, I don't think they should be running it, but as football ops leaders, we can do a **** of a lot worse, both Zo and Gino have a lot of potential. Of course I want proven my man and outside.

The whole second part of this is 100% correct. Where you’re wrong is saying these people aren’t stupid. At least half (porbably 80%) of America’s “elites” are stupid. They rise to these positions bc of who they know or where they went to school. Have you seen our political establishment? 90% of the people who run this country are idiots, but you think people that run Universities aren’t?
I would like to add that the BOT cronyism in their handling of the university unathletic dept almost guarantees they fall in the 80% category, their incompetence and corruption can't just stay in politics and it has ruined the athletics at a private school, thats why the BOT want someone who understands said culture...

Evaluations of what?
Why you need someone separate to go to the AD for $$ or scheduling?

Zo has 0 experience being an administrator in college football.
Talent.

He’s been a scout and personnel dept executive in the NFL for 2 decades.

Guys on this website have done arguably a better job of evaluating local talent than the Um coaches, but we don’t trust Zo?

This 100%. Very obvious what’s going on. This is bad.

Graham Neff who reports to Radakovich supervises Clemson football. So yes, he already has that function in place.
98% of schools have people under the AD appointed to “supervise” each sport. People are talking about Zo having almost complete control over football. Idk that that’s ever been done before. These “supervising” associates or advisors do not have hiring and firing abilities. This would be much different.

Ask yourself what other top 20 football program would go this route. Like I said in a previous post, we are a ******* dumpster fire and will continue to be until they prove we are not. Which will never happen as long as they keep doing it the Miami way. Is it that difficult? Hire a top notch proven AD have that person hire a top notch proven coach. Supply them with the needed support and resources. The end.

What else did we really expect with this university lol the idea should be to expect the absolute worst. This program doesn’t care about winning. The optics were getting bad so they spread some false info about playing big boy football. The plan all along is to keep the status quo. There’s no reason for us to pump money into a program that gives us a massive negative return on investment. At this rate manny is probably back as well
