Big update from Herald

- Zo or Torretta paired with more-experienced administrator is most likely scenario
- Per source, "the whole thing revolves around football. Nothing else."
- School wants to do something "meaningful"
- Most important- Manny almost assuredly gone in this scenario

@DMoney Appreciate the update from the Herald. First, and I’ve said it before, Manny is gone. The message conveyed by the Herald that it’s a football only decision is not correct, at least in JF’s thought process. JF has driven this change starting with BJ months ago and many BOT members have followed him and put their faith in him. Either he has done a complete 180 or it’s incorrect information provided by the Herald.

Can someone fill me in about strawley? Did she do something to justify the hate? Almost assuredly it was not her decision but Blake's with the football program

1. She does not have a ***** (allegedly).
2. She spoke to people on certain issues (Mullet) when Beta Blake refused to open his mouth, thus giving the incorrect impression that she was more responsible for certain decisions than he was.
3. Her name was included on a banner.
4. Woke woke woke woke woke (I hope I shoehorned that into the post correctly).
5. She has utterly failed to put a dagger in Beta Blake's back as Brutus did to Julius Caesar.

I am NOT in favor of retaining her, but if the new AD independently values her ongoing employment, that should be his decision to make.

This is also a way to bury Zo. He’s not going to have true power when it comes to decision making. He’ll report to that dork Nunez and probably quit after a few weeks.
I’d say they both report above. Neither have any leverage over the other.

That’s how I would do it anyway.

Zo is exclusive to football and Strawley is his assistant for administrative tasks and typical AD assignments and dealings. Nunez covers all other sports and doesn’t have the assistant.

I don’t get this board? What would Tom Jurich bring to the university that Zo or Gino wouldn’t? You think Mario or Lane aren’t picking up the phone for Alonso or Gino? Would you rather have some second rate administrator like Nunez or the chubby fella for TTU?
Go look at what Jurich did for Louisville Athletics. He basically quintupled their budget while there, took their major programs to their highest heights. He built a great infrastructure.

He has proven he can create and sustain success through putting the right building blocks down. Alonzo Highsmith is a smart man who has NFL experience, but he has zero experience doing the things Jurich has already proven he can do.

We may luck out if it is Zo and he may have it in him to fix this school. That's a big risk to take and one that probably isn't worth it when you have the closest thing to a sure thing right there for the taking.

I'm honestly leaning this way based on the timing and content of this particular leak. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking.

If you told me Zo/Torretta with Mario 2 weeks ago I would’ve said great. Way better than Blake and Manny, and maybe we can start building towards a winning top tier program

But the way this Administration has handled this process and all the info that has come out about political in fighting and bull**** gives me no hope anymore

This post is a perfect example of why we can’t have nice things, because it’s a fanbase full of low IQ mouth breathers.

I know, it’s insane for people to ask for someone with a good resume instead of “Miami guys” WITH ABSOLUTELY NO ATHLETIC DIRECTOR EXPERIENCE.

Bingo.

Only one that we could leverage into that would be Jurich because he has baggage and his age.

I think Nunez is linked because he’s a Miami native and probably reached out when it came open obviously wanting to come home - he’s also a basketball guy with a playing and coaching background. He could handle that aspect. He hired a solid baseball coach at New Mexico also. He may not be as interested in being over football as most want to be
He made a big name hire in getting Pitino’s kid. The only positive is getting into the Pitino/Donovan coaching circle.
