Here's a better idea. Work with the NFL eliminate the "3 years out of high school" rule.

Neither do I.

And they sure as **** better change that initial counter rule if you are going to make it this easy to randomly transfer.
And make it next to impossible to do a second transfer.

It will destroy all but the richest schools who will buy players to replace players who leave and won’t have worry about recruiting .

It would essentially eliminate class rankings.

Because it wouldn't matter who you recruited year in & year out, if a kid ain't starting as a TF, he's outta there.

It would be pure chaos, that could be both good & bad for lots of programs. It would end up being like NFL Free Agency without guaranteed upfront money & signing bonuses.

We would both lose & get good players every year. TBH, I'm not totally against it or for it. I think it could possibly be the grand equalizer for the powerhouse programs that hoard high level talent, but it would also put immense pressure on coaches to have to win big every year or else...

It would kill the lower level teams though, any good player at those programs would get poached by bigger programs every year. And if you're a middle of the road team you're screwed. You'd basically have to win a Natty every year to keep most of your kids & even then many of them would still leave.

The top teams shouldn’t be able to use all American and all conference lists to recruit.

Players shouldn’t be forced to sit the bench, either.

They should record the number of snaps players receive. If you are under the threshold, you can transfer without penalty.

Players who are actually playing should abide by current rules this.

This would be a more fair and flexible system for all involved. Allowing the best teams to cherry pick the best college proven players would be a disaster.

The immediate eligibility from The Portal is going to create an extremely soft culture.

The times where a kid worked hard to move up the depth chart, the competition, the next man up.......all that is going to be gone. You’re just going to have a grip of entitled brats hoping around until a situation works for them.

A lot of ramifications. There’s gotta be some scholarship penalty if this chit happens. I’m all good w a kid leaving b/c the culture, education, fit is not right, but leaving b/c u got beat out for a position, so now u wanna take ur ball and leave??? Bytch made chit that’s being catered to.

Sounds like what’s happening in SFL HS’s. Chaos for all the reasons stated above.

That's this generation though. The world is in their fingertips from an early age with electronic devices. There is no longer, let's figure it out, instead let's Google or YouTube it. I notice with young people today, a complete lack of patience. Ask them to think critically and try to figure out a problem, forget about it.

So wait behind the starter or even be third string, fat chance of that happening. This would be a terrible thing for collegiate athletics.

Pros and Cons.

Pros: Bag Game is basically dead. When you pay a kid 30k+ to come to your school and he can dip in a instant paying recruits will seem more and more of a bad investment.

Cons: Tampering. This happens so much in the pros and in HS sports it would run rampant in college football.

Couldn't agree more on everything you just posted.
