Any concept of leaving the Big 10 conference by Nebraska is completely comical. As someone posted already, the Big 10 generates more athletic revenue than any conference, or is 2nd at worst. Why? Obvious answer is TV contracts. But the reason behind the value of the TV contracts is that the Big 10 touches the largest population base of any conference. Which is why the Big 10 added Rutgers. of course RU can’t compete but it brings a northeast media market. add to that Chicago, the Philly market with PSU, and of course the entire Midwest.
there is no way Nebraska can get a better deal than the Big 10. Certainly not in the Big 12
