Bethune thoughts after rewatch

We need some more explosion at receiver to really be an elite contending team. Probably the only question. Maybe safety against an elite passing team. The corners will be fine.
well we beat the best defense we'll play all year (probably including playoffs) already. so why do people feel like our current WR group can't get it done?

Because people are still in Cam numbers mode.

1) I absolutely love Mark Fletcher. Was mentioned in earlier comments, but he’s dealt with physical and emotional hurdles that other players cannot overcome.

I think he ends up being a better NFL player than people expect.

2) Etheridge earned every dime of his contract bringing Scott over

A few observations, since I was able to concentrate my binoculars on players and not as much on the game, especially in the 2nd half:
* The body of our veteran OL are shaped like NFL players, few if any seem out of shape. Compared to our freshman OL that looked like bid strong kids but not NFL material YET. Quietly this staff has shaped them. A similar observation for the DT, Moten whether he plays at the next level or not, looks the part and has two very good games.
* Like the play of Coach Taylor son. #28 Isaiah Taylor. He played with energy and "flew" to the ball, he is good back up quality.
* Love Lightfoot, we need to get him bulked up a bit, a tweener. Could be a great OLB in the NFL.
* Artavious Jone #42 needs more development.
* Seuseu Alogaituli seemed quick off the line but needs a season to look like our veteran OL, he seemed tiny playing next to Ryan Rodriques in the 4th quarter.
* Daylen Russell played decent, I must admit I thought he was a wasted ship when he signed, but I do like what he did last night. I can see why he led Dade County in tackles.
* Moten Sr was a great Mario sign. Solid
* I want to do whatever biceps workout #1 Mohamed Toure is doing.
* Mesidor will be an NFL pick. Love how he leads. I thought he was the clear leader of our defense, even when the 2nd strings were in, he was an additional coach in the field.
* Ny Carr got some playing time and looked good, good hands.
* Daylyn Upshaw plays fast. Even when the ball was not coming to him.
* Ja'Boree Antoine played the entire 4th quarter and some in the 3rd. Saw little to no action, got a ton of playing time. He needs to gain 15 pounds in the offseason. Looked healthy. I saw NO lingering injury issues.
* Chris Ewald, Jr also played a lot but needs to sleep in the cafeteria. Looked like a ten-year-old.
* Chris Wheatley-Humphrey gained good weight, without losing quickness.
* Kellen Wiley, Jr. made a few mistakes. But he was the QB of the defense when he played. I saw him moving players pre snap and talking after the plays to the Freshman DEs. Lots of energy. Will jump on any pile that was near him. sideline to sideline energy.
* I liked #35 Herbert Scroggins III, was quick to the QB. A bit smaller for a DE, similar body type to Malik Bryant. Quick.
* Booker Pickett played but just did not stood out as he did last year. Body looks the same. I did not see any bulk.

I also drank several beersss by the second half and .....

As long as the defense tackles well and doesn’t get caught falling asleep on the backend during scrambles, it’s a pick your poison for offenses. Try a traditional drop back and Bain/Mesidor/Lightfoot/Moten etc are gonna get to you before you can get the ball off. Try the bubble screen game and you’re gonna have to put together 12+ play drives 4 yards at a time which are almost impossible to do consistently.

Yea, do people watch the games? I understand if you were at the game but the broadcast showed multiple replays. The DB deflected the ball.
I swear I didn’t have a single drop of alcohol but I thought I saw it like ten times and the DB didn’t. Thought maybe he blocked his vision. Just saw it hit the shoulder pad was good coverage though

I stand corrected if that’s what happened. Also a big fan of Moore I picked him and Pringle to score in my hype thread and I was close haha

Injured or not, Lofton just ain’t it as TE1, imo. He’s a nice security blanket for the QB on short yardage downs or red zone and can move pretty well but that’s his ceiling.

We NEED to get schott more touches as he is that field stretching TE we are missing.

This is the route most of the rest of our opponents are going to try to go.

Love Beck but do realize he has been under very little pressure due to our great OL. Only 4 hurries vs ND and on many plays yesterday he had all day to throw.
Not a criticism just something to factor in while judging his performance so far.
Oh poor beck I can’t believe he has 7 seconds to throw the ball

I thought it was a drop at first. The DB made a great play on the ball. It was probably their best defensive play of the game.
