Best 2 Dt’s on the team

JHH has been a pleasant surprise!
And that one play against FSU by Silvera...oooowweeeeee
Also...the play against UL where he threw the guard against the RB...daaannggg

Nesta is playing well but far from dominant. Unfortunately, I don’t see him coming back even though he should.

Ford does the job he is assigned to do on run plays and does it well. He usually comes out on obvious pass downs
well that’s the thing I have seen ford and miller in on what I think are long down and distance situations. I think as a defensive line coach you gotta be more in tune to down and distance as the game is going on to strategically get your pass rushers in like Phillips and hunte inside while Roche and Harvey on the outside with more interchangeable parts like Blissett and Cam Williams to name a few.

maybe just maybe the coaches are using him correctly right now. Just a thought. Maybe allowing big man Ford to lean on these centers and guards on early downs allows JHH to come in fresh and dominate on 3rd down and other times.

Is it possible there is nothing wrong with the rotation? JHH and Nesta can’t be on the field together on obvious passing downs. They are too small. You have to have ford or miller in there early on.
👎🏾

I don’t see dominance. JAG might be a bit strong but I’m basing that off of his top 50 ranking coming out. That’s a blue chip/elite player and ge hasn’t come close to that. A reminder of what a dominant DT looks like because I think we forgot.

Man our defense that year was solid as ****

Get off my former teammate nah

Ford and Miller will continue to get snaps because Nesta and JHH play the same position. Since Jimmy Johnson installed a 4-3 here, there’s always been a 3 technique tackle who lines up between the guard and tackle on offense and a 1 technique who lines up between the center and guard on the opposite side. For every Warren Sapp, there’s a Pat Riley. For every William Joseph, there’s a Matt Walters. For every RJ McIntosh, there’s a Kendrick Norton. We might be able to see more of Harrison-Hunte and Silvera together if we can get a big enough lead to make the opponent one dimensional.
Well said sir. Appreciate the History lesson too.

lol and what’s funny bout Earl is he didn’t play a lick of football until his sophomore year. He was a b-ball player. When the coaches convinced him to play football he was only like 240 and not an ounce of baby fat on him. He was rocked up. Earl had like 10 cousins all in the same school and the entire family was all naturally rocked up and country strong. He couldn’t even get in a proper 3 point stance. I was so proud of earl with how far he came when he got to Miami

Haha similar story to JPP at Deerfield. Went to school with my older brother And was just a Zoe who was big and athletic for nun until coaches finally convinced him to try football..legend has it he came out to practice in some beat up Forces 😂

The thing y’all gloss over is the fact that Nesta doesn’t even play on most traditional pass rushing downs(3rd downs) and yet he still is 2nd in qb pressures in the country among power 5 dts and leads the country at the position with 6 qb hits. Just imagine if he played more on 3rd down obvious passing situations . Stats don’t tell the full story here, he’s having a great year. He’s been close on a bunch of sacks too

Nesta better than JHH right now but I can see JHH has the best “upside” so we’ll see but Nesta is the bully in the trenches. Until I see JHH break a QB in half, Nesta the clear #1.

Gerald Willis was playing at a historic level that one year he played for us. There are levels that’s still considered dominant but not at the level Willis played that year...

Nesta is dominating in the trenches can’t be denied. Hopefully he stays his senior year and we’ll get to see the best version of himself like we did with Willis.

Don't forget McIntosh. I know he had problems recruiting but Coach Kul had our d-line playing on another level. I haven't seen Manny's defense look more dominate than when he was here.
