Off-Topic Ben Sasse to UF (President)

She improved academics and fundraising. UHealth turned out great long term, but she would've been better served hiring a strong AD and letting him work.

Uhealth was a disaster for many years, it was actually a very bad investment until Covid. Norman Braman, whose business intellect I greatly respect, resigned from the Board over it.

One of the trends post-ACA was the increased profitability of outpatient medicine. You have to wonder what she, as former head of the HHS, knew about the Democrats long term plans in the event they got back in power. The purchase of Cedars was 2007 and there were people in place prior to that.

but it lost money for 10+ years I believe, she WAY overpaid.

Oh, I'm not disputing that at all. When Braman got ****ed was right after ACA when HHS was handing out hundreds of millions in grants for hospitals to convert to electronic health record systems. The general opinion in the industry was we were all screwed once that money ran out. It was a few years later when the outpatient shift took hold.

When I said it turned out great long term, I'm not saying she knew that would happen or that she made any good decisions at the time. I'm just curious if she knew where legislation was heading.

I forgot about that. IIRC, he was very close with the Millers as well, who obviously were very much in favor of it.

So…does this hurt their football program?
In all honesty, Shalala, on the administrative front as Chancellor, deserves as much credit as anyone in Madison (including Barry Alvarez), for reviving the then-comatose Wisconsin Badgers football program.

Way too conservative for the UF students? We shall see. There are what, 50,000 there on campus and all of a couple hundred were protesting Sasse.

Are you surprised that there aren't more members in the UF Communists and the UF Young Democratic Socialists of America?

There might be a rift between the Marxists/Leninists, Maoists, xim/xir, Trotskyists, perestroika, socialism in one country vs permanent revolution, and all their other garbage *** iterations of nonsense.

Please let this spiral into an embarrassing national mess. That’s all I ask.
Exactly! I don't care to debate if it's right or wrong to withhold donations because of political leanings here. I just want UiF to hurt. Want to see their precious academic rankings drop as budget issues rise.
