Been saying for awhile, Mark Stoops

You all keep making jokes about Mark Stoops an KY. You will see, KY is a sleeping giant with Stoops. I too, wish he was Miami's coach. He beat South Carolina last year in Lex and beat them last night in Columbia. Didn't Miami play South Carolina in the bowl game? What was the score?

You guys have your "homer" glasses on.

The only way Stoops leave UK for Miami is if Miami backs up the bank to his front door. And nothing, so far, in his HC career suggests he is worth that.

Stoops has a great gig in Lexington. And while some of yall want to tout that EVERY coach wants to win a national title, and should be willing to go where YOU PERCEIVE it would be easiest, these coaches all have big enough egos to believe it can happen where they are.

Stoops can recruit to UK. It's in the SEC, Lexington is a really fun college town, and athletes at UK are held in extremely high regard. And he coaches in the East. If he's as good as some of yall think he is, he should be able to eventually win his division. I'm guessing Stoops doesn't feel like he'll never beat Florida, UGA, and Mizzou. And all he has to do to win his division is beat them ... That gets him to the SEC championship game. And once he gets there a few times ... He won't suddenly believe he can never beat the west.

That the inconsistency that some of you guys don't get. You want a guy who wants to win a national title ... But the guys who want to win it, want it on their terms.

Just like Gary Patterson and Art Briles. Both of those dudes believe they can win a title where they are. Neither has to move.

Please get out of the 80s. Just because Jimmy had to leave Stillwater to get the kind of kids who could beat Nebraska and OU doesn't mean that's the model for today.

UK will keep Stoops forever if he wins 8-9 games per season. He gets a bonus for every win above 6, so they're just looking for him to be competitive. And if he proves to be even better than that, they'll probably pay what it takes to keep him.

IMO, Stoops is a really long shot ...

But who knows???

Why would he leave Kentucky to go to Miami? My god that thought should never cross my mind

No one like Mark Stoops is coming here to this dumpster fire of a program. We pay like chit, have an administration and BOT that cares nothing about football, and are basically concerned only with making money off the med school and sick people. This mess is so bad we'll be lucky to get some coordinator from a program like Army.

They beat an Al Golden Miam team, I can't wait till you tell me your thoughts on Mike London.

Stoops was ******* awesome as our DB coach in the early 2000's. In the last 15 years, FSU's best Defense was under his watch. Kentucky is competitive in most of their games. The guy can coach.

Stoops has a 8-17 career record as a head coach.

Are people here that desperate and stupid?

Except, of course, when they lose 41-3, 63-31, and 50-16 as part of their six game losing streak to end 2014.

I guess the word "most" escaped you? His first year, he won 2 games. Last year, he won 5 games (should have beaten Florida in the Swamp). During their 6 game losing streak they lost to LSU, MSU (nearly won), Missouri, UGA, Tennessee, and Louisville. That is tough for anyone, let alone a school like Kentucky. In his 3rd year, he has Kentucky 2-0 with a victory at South Carolina. I'm not saying he is the next Saban or anything but the guy is a good coach.

Cute argument though. You really put me in my place. I'll act more accordingly from now on....

No, I think you're spot on. I think our next coach should be another guy who loses six straight to end the season. Really sounds like he finished well. Holding Georgia to 63 points is quite an accomplishment and really shows how far along he has brought the Wildcat defense.

After scoring 41 points against Kentucky, LSU went on to score 10, 13, and 0 in their next three games. And the shutout was against Arkansas, who has always been known for their vicious defense.

At MSU, Nick Saban, lost to Nebraska twice, 50-10 and 55-14. I guess he sucks as a coach too?

When did I say Stoops should be our next coach? Pull it up. I won't be waiting.

They flopped really hard last year. It was an epic collapse. And I don't want to hear a bunch of excuses. Coaches have won 8 games at Kentucky before. It's not like Kentucky is a toilet like Memphis was.

Fredo Stoops has accomplished absolutely nothing as a HC to give anyone a reason to want him here. Maybe he will one day, but he hasn't come close yet. Way too big of an unknown.

We shouldn't be looking for a HC that we have to make a ton of excuses for. It's too risky, and our program is at a major crossroads. We shouldn't start our next coaching search with "He loses a ton of games, but...(fill in a laundry list of excuses)".

Not exactly great data for the Fredo Stoops camp. LSU was an abortion offensively, yet they annihilated Fredo, who is supposed to be a defensive specialist. When's the last time we hired a defensive HC who was unable to stop anyone?
