Been saying for awhile, Mark Stoops

Kentucky is competitive in most of their games. The guy can coach.

Except, of course, when they lose 41-3, 63-31, and 50-16 as part of their six game losing streak to end 2014.

I guess the word "most" escaped you? His first year, he won 2 games. Last year, he won 5 games (should have beaten Florida in the Swamp). During their 6 game losing streak they lost to LSU, MSU (nearly won), Missouri, UGA, Tennessee, and Louisville. That is tough for anyone, let alone a school like Kentucky. In his 3rd year, he has Kentucky 2-0 with a victory at South Carolina. I'm not saying he is the next Saban or anything but the guy is a good coach.

Cute argument though. You really put me in my place. I'll act more accordingly from now on....

We shouldn't be looking for a HC that we have to make a ton of excuses for. It's too risky, and our program is at a major crossroads. We shouldn't start our next coaching search with "He loses a ton of games, but...(fill in a laundry list of excuses)".

I agree. I don't think he should be our next hire. Too much at stake. I have gone on record saying we should look at the NFL. That being said, Stoops is going to have a **** of a career. The guy is successful everywhere he goes. But we have these incredibly super duper intelligent slurpers telling me that because he got destroyed by LSU he must suck as a coach. That's incredible logic. I'm seriously questioning a lot about myself.

I don't know if he's any good as a HC or not. He did a nice job at FSU as a DC. But as a HC, he's totally unproven. In fact, the only data available right now is that he's struggling pretty badly. So, yes, he's a good DC. HC? Not idea.

After scoring 41 points against Kentucky, LSU went on to score 10, 13, and 0 in their next three games. And the shutout was against Arkansas, who has always been known for their vicious defense.

Not exactly great data for the Fredo Stoops camp. LSU was an abortion offensively, yet they annihilated Fredo, who is supposed to be a defensive specialist. When's the last time we hired a defensive HC who was unable to stop anyone?

Maybe Fredo can take over the defense the way C A G did during that three game stretch last season.

Folden took over the D against Bethune this year too, but then, as he did last year, gave it back to Doritos for the FAU game. The D looked like Miami style in the Bethune game.

He sucks as a coach because he lost to everyone in the last half of the season. Not just LSU. And teams were putting up their season highs against his defense. The guy can be successful everywhere he goes and still suck when he finally gets a marquee head coaching job. And that's exactly the case here.

Put it this way.....your best point so far is that he beat a dying South Carolina program that lost its starting quarterback early in the game.

Kentucky was as good as they are now when they had a big QB, I forget his name, but his nickname was the Battleship or some such.

We could do worse, but I'm not sure he'd be a surefire homerun hit.

OMG, that's not whatever his name is now is it? That's crazy if so, but he always had a cannon for an arm who had no problem seeing over the line. Now it looks like he may eat the line.
