Beck

Bext is at 7 INT's on the season...

Does anybody think he's not going to throw another pick in the remaining 6 games?

Remember when all his interceptions were the fault of his WR's, no OLine & no run game last year?

What's the issue now?
The Greentree AA's haven't panned out or some other BS

That’s a lot of assumptions made off of a locker room statement. I heard the interview and he said that he needed to play better and communicate better. He was asked about the play and said how it played out. Lofton didn’t execute. Maybe if we had him integrated into the offense from Day 1, they may have better communication. But he doesn’t block enough for Mario’s mauling run game. We are playing to the scheme, not to the talent. I thought Lofton would be a Swiss Army knife player, all over the field. But, it seems they’re gonna put that square peg in that round hole. Beck’s a game manager, give him the tools and latitude to succeed. Not saying he shouldn’t play better, that’s a given, but open up the scheme to incorporate the talent on the field, instead of funneling it all to one scheme or style of play. Open it up, he will manage it. For those calling for his head, well that head is 29-4. Yeah, mfer’s let’s play Emory instead. JFC, let’s just calm down or STFU.

He's a Swiss Army Knife in a nuclear warhead fight right now. 8 yards per catch, can't block, hasn't gotten a carry even though he was the 'best back on the field' and when Toure can't cover we don't see Lofton at LB even though we heard he could be a Butkus Award winner.

I hate that I’m doing this to myself but:

We spotted them 14 points
QB1 threw 4 INTS
Our OL had about 50+ yards in bonehead penalties

And we still could won against likely the best team remaining on our schedule
I agree
I just hope this is a one off performance by him
Even one less in an I feel we win

Exactly, so what is it? Last year he looked good, but was still raw. So, he never moved past that, never developed? I don’t want to put this on him. What about Lyle. Kid runs inside AND outside. When have we seen him carry outside, or anyone carry outside. When we do it’s a f**king bubble screen. If we’re so predictable, then Becks gonna manage that predictably, bc that’s who he is. Open up the offense, use all the talent, and he will game manage all of it. Put him in a box, with limited options and that’s what we are seeing.

No I think the hype machine is driven by a guy that has no idea how to evaluate and just regurgitates what people tell him, agenda be damned

I'll wait until end of season before judging Beck but, going forward, we need to get away from having statutes playing the position. We need QBs that can scare opposing defenses, especially when they don't have to respect the QB as a legit ballcarrier who can extend the pocket and/or get the yards on critical downs. This isn't the 1980s anymore.
And Beck even moved around in the pocket but A) either scrambled early or B) looked super uncomfortable being unable to settle back in

He can’t be moved off his spot at all it seems

I mean, he’s a FB or, perhaps, an HBack in an offense that wants to very often play rugby, except he’s lined up at TE. We don’t have to be math professors to add that up and see he’d likely underperform.

Maybe if we moved him around, slipped him out of wham blocks, and tried to find matchups (this is allowed, though he doesn’t look very quick this year), we’d get a bit more out of him.

Personally, I’d like to see Schott, but used in the way I described before.

It seems to me that it is difficult for a quarterback to prosper in an offense where there is little or no run game and mostly porous past rush defense. He got hit harder last night than most other games combined. By the way, the only reason Louisville did not score 52 last night.
Was because the offense did not score as quickly otherwise, the porous defense would have given up 25 more points..

Well, this is what I said. Open the offense to utilize the tools. TE,H back, or run any route across the middle to a back or TE. Run outside. Use Toney in a Wildvcat. We have multiple assets, deploy them. JFC, it FB, not rocket science. Of course in Rocket Science they would deploy all assets.

Too much risk. **** that.

People keep calling Lofton a Swiss Army Knife and I’m over here like

He has 11 td passes and 7 INT’s in 6 games. Cam had 39 td passes and the same 7 INT’s in 13 games! He’s already equaled all of Cam’s INT’s last season including a bowl game in only 46% of the games. Truly pathetic. He will for sure throw more INT’s than he threw at UGA last year (12).

That's a fair and reasonable way of looking at this game.
Sometimes we do stuff that it doesn't matter how good the opponent is.
So far from what I've seen I'm not crazy about Beck's performance this season and, worse, I think this Oline is vastly overrated.
