Beck

I personally don't think he's the kind of leader to rally the troops/face the music like a man.. be the one in the locker room saying "I'll do better!".

He's more likely to wallow in self pity and retreat to isolation rather than respond with courage in the face of adversity.

His comments after the game reaffirmed my suspicion. He couldn't help but say "the receiver ran the wrong route" instead of just sticking with "there was a miscommunication. That's on me."
Mario said the exact thing before Beck did...

He was pressed about the interceptions and took responsibility. Don't think that was a big deal

I don't think we can underestimate his reaction after the game. To me, he should have went out there, said my performance was unacceptable and it won't happen again. Period. Work out whos fault it was behind closed doors. Putting it on Lofton tells me everything I need to know about him. He is not a leader of men and unfortunately will not lead this team to success. That was an absolute embarrassment of a presser.
Lofton is a big boy & shame on him if he can’t take the heat. Media and fans are always *****ing about being kept in the dark on how something played out. They click on message boards to speculate. Now we’re *****ing about the truth.

He has 11 td passes and 7 INT’s in 6 games. Cam had 39 td passes and the same 7 INT’s in 13 games! He’s already equaled all of Cam’s INT’s last season including a bowl game in only 46% of the games. Truly pathetic. He will for sure throw more INT’s than he threw at UGA last year (12).
Of course the defense spent less time on the field last year and they weren't replaced by the punt return team

Wait did Beck throw guys under? I saw Toney say they just gotta regroup, get back to Miami standard

People keep calling Lofton a Swiss Army Knife and I’m over here like

I wish I didn't agree with you, but I can't help doing so.

I'll wait until end of season before judging Beck but, going forward, we need to get away from having statutes playing the position. We need QBs that can scare opposing defenses, especially when they don't have to respect the QB as a legit ballcarrier who can extend the pocket and/or get the yards on critical downs. This isn't the 1980s anymore.
I don’t need to wait until the end of the season. I’ve seen the product.

I agree
I just hope this is a one off performance by him
Even one less in an I feel we win
It's not--he threw two picks against USF, and one or two against UF (I forget). This is who he is: aka white Jacory Harris with less wiggle and legs to extend plays.

Beck at UGA last year is no different than what we’ve got going on currently. We have no run game. When Beck doesn’t have a run game he gets turnover happy. We better hope and pray that the run game can get going like we saw in games 1-4…. If not we’re looking at a 15 interception season from him.

He is to blame for much of it no doubt but our coaching staff/ o line has failed him for 2 straight weeks with the lack of running game. With no run game He lit FSU up and then Louisville lit him up…. Let’s see what happens moving forward

they need to get more playmakers on the field.also, we have no run game bc our coaches refuse to change the run scheme.

Teams know Beck won't pull on a read option so they've ignored him. The one time he should've pulled and they had a slide RPO to Lofton (wide open) he handed off to Fletcher who scored but it was the wrong read.

So if your Q won't run you have to RPO and screen opponents to death. The issues with the post-snap RPO is if you make the wrong read- the Q has to run!

The issue with screens is you can't pull your OL in that much space all the time, the fat boys get tired. And if you don't Toney should never be the front blocker but Dawson ain't that smart.

**** so you know him like that?

Did you listen to his entire presser or just the snippet? He too plenty of blame. Did that part reaffirm anything for you, or just the part that for your suspicion?

Some weird takes around here.

2 of the ints were 50/50 balls. Usually a qb throws that ball and at minimum expects incomplete. The last on was tipped? And the receiver was even looking and should have been

Yea I I’m starting to think u are correct

Not defending Beck, but I believe if you watch the entire presser, he did essentially say it's on him. He was asked repeatedly about INTs and routes and gave a factual (we think) answer.

Granted he didn't go all Tebow Braveheart, but I think he took ownership unless I watched a different presser than the rest ya'll.

Yes I listened to the whole thing and heard him take plenty of responsibility. But as a 6th year player, QB, highest paid player on the team, he's the leader and should NEVER publicly throw a player under the bus. ESPECIALLY after he just threw 4 INTs and cost us the game. I've also followed him closely for several years being from Georgia and having dozens of close friends who are UGA fans. Their narrative on him has always been the same.

And if you watch the presser and see the way he looked down and kind of mumbled "ran the wrong route" you can tell even he knew he shouldn't have said it. He just couldn't help it.

Just look at the headlines and the stories around the message boards. He knows what narratives are out there against him. He's already talked about them..he just gave them more fuel. Why give the media and the fans any added reason to add to the narrative? What good could come from him publicly telling everybody that his TE ran the wrong route?

Everybody that matters, IN the locker room, already knows what happens.. So it only comes across as soft and trying to deflect blame.
