Beau Sandland

Wasn't athletic enough. It was apparent pretty quick.

He looked like a monster on his JUCO tape, which is a good reminder to always consider level of competition.

Just want to bump @DMoney "Spot-on" analysis when Beau Sandland comes off the board in the draft today. :6e482c_o:

He wasn't athletic enough to beat out Walford and Cleveland, and he **** sure wouldn't have been athletic enough to beat out Njoku and Herndon.

Miami has a high standard for tight ends. Sandland didn't meet that standard. You can blame "cultural differences." I just think he wasn't good enough.

Double down D$. He isn't athletic enough to play here but athletic enough to be drafted in the NFL? Sounds legit.

We always knew he was a workout warrior who could beat up weak competition. The problem is that against top athletes, he can't play fast/quick enough to make up for his bad blocking.

That's why he got beat out here, and that's why I don't expect him to make it at the next level.

You need to calm down bud, he was one pick away from being Mr Irrelevant so still congrats to him for even being drafted. But he got drafted to the Carolina Panthers so once again he just gonna be sitting bench behind a Miami TE. Im sure he works his *** off or he would never have been this far, but I do believe he just was never going to see the field at Miami because of the amount of talent we got for TE's. You must be a huge fan of Sandland so just be happy he was smart enough to notice that.

Just because Sandland was drafted doesn't mean he was good enough to play here. I hate how UM handled the coaching situation from Coker to Folden, and know there were plenty of players during that time that weren't worthy of playing at UM, but DMoney is right in that the standard at UM was too good for him.

Walford was better at UM than Sandland and will be a better pro. Cleveland has stuck around in the league for a good bit. Present day, Njoku looks primed to have a very good season and is certainly athletic enough as a prospect to garner NFL attention into the future.

Happy for Sandland, hope he does well, but relative to the competition, he wasn't athletic or good enough to play at Miami.

jeff driskel got drafted

I blame that on Muschump, Kiper,McShay, and Daniel Jerimiah basically said playing QB for the gayters is career suicide. Btw so did Jacoby Brissett

Every qb that left UF looked like a different guy at next stop

Yeah you aint lying..

Daniel Jerimiah(sp) even took a jab at U*** by saying no QB looks good at florida till they transfer elsewhere..

I openly laughed in my living room

I couldn't give a **** about Sandland to be honest. It's just funny how the goal posts keep moving. D$ essentially called the kid dog **** and a workout warrior & not athletic enough. Now it's because he wasn't better than the people in front of him. Well no **** Sherlock.

Saying he isn't athletic enough or good enough to play here (out of his element/can't compete) and/or not as good as the people in front of him are two different things. Saying he didn't "belong" on the field (as D$ is implying) is just complete idiocy.

He impressed scouts the entire pre-draft process. Not saying he's gonna stick in the league but he obviously had plenty of ability to contribute here (which was and is my only point).

On a side note Devante Bond (another JUCO kid we targeted and went to Oklahoma) was drafted.

Came to say the same the BigSky lulz. We had Junior Alexis a few back I seen his name as a sleeper on NFL.COM

Wasnt Avery Young and his 5 stars from PBC. Took Awwwwburnts $$$ IIRC

Denver Kirkland looking for work too. Bert was posed to make him a 1st rounder

Alex Collins went in the 5th

Jorge better sell local kids on getting paid in the NFL not the SEC

So much for getting drafted in the same slot no matter where you go. Kirkland and Collins went to Arkansas and died.

This is why you dont go to Arky

So they would have been better at Miami instead of Arkansas? In what way exactly? They were able to compete in the toughest division in the best conference in college football. Miami didn't offer them anything better than that football-wise.

There's always the tired "he wasn't Miami material" line of BS these guys dish out. He wasn't good enough to play on a team that can't win the horrible Coastal with a bunch of "Miami caliber players".

You're an SEC honk, so you'll keep repeating the SEC party line. But UM players traditionally get picked higher than they should. There's a pro-UM bias in the NFL whether there should be or not. If Phil Dorsett went to Arkansas he's a 4th rounder tops.
