Wasn't athletic enough. It was apparent pretty quick.
He looked like a monster on his JUCO tape, which is a good reminder to always consider level of competition.
Just want to bump @DMoney "Spot-on" analysis when Beau Sandland comes off the board in the draft today. :6e482c_o:
He wasn't athletic enough to beat out Walford and Cleveland, and he **** sure wouldn't have been athletic enough to beat out Njoku and Herndon.
Miami has a high standard for tight ends. Sandland didn't meet that standard. You can blame "cultural differences." I just think he wasn't good enough.
Double down D$. He isn't athletic enough to play here but athletic enough to be drafted in the NFL? Sounds legit.
We always knew he was a workout warrior who could beat up weak competition. The problem is that against top athletes, he can't play fast/quick enough to make up for his bad blocking.
That's why he got beat out here, and that's why I don't expect him to make it at the next level.
