Beard has to be the guy for WR coach

Heard that Kevin Beard's interview went "great", but no decision has been made yet on WR coach #Canes

Goes to show that he must really see some potential in Beard to let him be the only person on the old staff allowed to even interview to keep their job. Im pretty sure he was told that there were other guys on their board that were higher up but that he would be in serious consideration. If they didnt tell him hopefully he is smart enough to know that.

IMO he is a great plan B option to have in the back pocket. I would be highly disappointed if he and Rumph cant run shop through SoFla and be A+ recruiters for us down here.

Everyone interviewed (except Paul Williams, because he already accepted a job)

Did D'Ono interview? [emoji102][emoji102][emoji102]

Kevin Beard deserves to have a second chance. He can coach and recruit well, so I hope he will stay.

Nothing wrong with having a couple former Canes on staff if they have established the can coach some. Remember, the delta between our old teams and the rest of college players where all those NFL players coming back and giving little tips and technique to the next generation. Cane players have been coaching Canes since back in the day. Heck, Howard had Joe Willie helping out Oline and Bernie during the HC game and he wasn't even a Cane.

I'm fine if Beard gets the job by why does he "have to be the guy"?

I was just referring to the tweet and maybe should've rephrased it to "beard has to be a guy we're seriously considering at WR coach"

Don't read too much into the timing though to give more credence to the possibility that Beard is retained. The Grim Richter has proven that prolonging a guy's hope of staying only to later boot them face first out of Hecht is of no concern to him.

Yeah....

Still holding out hop that Lilly reconsiders. It would then make perfect sense to keep Beard.

Beard is fine but Richt is not giving him CO-OC duties.

If Richt is going to call plays, he needs a guy that knows his system and he can trust to install the game plan during the week.

The original plan was Lilly and McClendon.

Now the plan is Thomas Brown and ?

I still think Lilly is in play and would be perfect.

The thing is that no one knows what the original plan is... Its all speculation.

Just like Raymond. We were going after him but his camp says they have never even been contacted by Miami.

Now everyone is freaking that Richt failed... says who? Not Richt, Not Raymond...

Also everyone assumes he wanted Aranda as his first choice but the only thing Richt has stated early on was that he wanted to get back to the Miami days of running the 4-3. Which precludes Aranda.

The point is no one knows. Take it with a grain of salt because no one knows and in the end it doesnt even matter.

Him deserving has nothing to do with Miami. Richt deserves to hire whomever he feels best helps his team. Nothing else matters on this team.

There are 8 coaches hired so far but how does J. Richt count? as coach or GA or support staff? that will determine if we have a WR coach and a TE Coach, yes?
