Goes to show that he must really see some potential in Beard to let him be the only person on the old staff allowed to even interview to keep their job. Im pretty sure he was told that there were other guys on their board that were higher up but that he would be in serious consideration. If they didnt tell him hopefully he is smart enough to know that.

IMO he is a great plan B option to have in the back pocket. I would be highly disappointed if he and Rumph cant run shop through SoFla and be A+ recruiters for us down here.

If it's a situation of "either I'm miserable or you're miserable," I agree, that changes the playing field entirely. Wife might be willing to cave if otherwise means misery for Lilly.

I read on the UGA 247 board that it is believed Lily wants to try to land an NFL job so that he has more time to spend with his family (not recruiting). I wonder if Richt told Lily that he'll hold the TE position open for him for a period of time while he tries to land a NFL gig. Would explain why Richt wanted Scott to move over to coach wr's instead of just reverting back to his old job as TE coach..

Only issue with Beard is he seemed to agree with D'Onofrio in that recruiting video. Hard to tell if he voted to offer.

Anyone who wanted that kid can kick rocks.

I hope he's not holding a job for a guy who doesn't really want to recruit anymore especially when he was your recruiting coordinator.

Are you really going to determine whether he deserves to return or not based on a video of a player not even in his position that we have no idea who it was? Based on if he wanted to offer or not
 
The fact that Beard hasn't gotten it yet makes me think that he's a backup plan. Or maybe they're waiting to announce TE and WR coach together as the last 2 positions.

From what I know kevs interview was last week. He was told they were going in another direction. Far as te coach goes mario will be hired next week (I believe) I know he's been in contact with richt. For whatever that's worth. Kev part & Mario Contact I know for fact.

Didn't say he wasn't employable. But in terms of recruiting, I'd like the position coaches to have an eye for talent and evaluating. It helps the team as a whole. If he thought the alleged guy was Miami material or simply went along to get along, that's not a great sign. Not a dealbreaker, either. Just sayin'.
