I think all staffs need a mix of younger and older guys. With the last two spots I would like to see some veteran coaches brought in.
 
Give me Mario at TE coach/ Co-OC, and lock it up.. Monster diverse staff
 
If Lilly reconsiders and takes the TE job, I think we keep Beard as WR coach.

The CO-OC (passing game coordinator) needs to come from the TE or WR coach. Beard will not be the CO-OC.

If Richt decides to find a WR coach that will double as OC, Beard is out.
 
Why is it so completely implausible to people that Beard and even Rumph are actually good coaches?

Both were taught by outstanding coaches while they were here. Pagano/Stoops for Rumph and Curtis Johnson for Beard.

Like ****, if you have no knowledge of their coaching ability, just simply say YOU DON'T KNOW. As opposed to using the internets to judge who the best coaches are and whether or not somebody is qualified.

No one knows if someone is a good or bad coach. I trust the judgement of Richt to make the right decisons. We arent paying him $4 mil for nothing.
 
Beard is fine but Richt is not giving him CO-OC duties.

If Richt is going to call plays, he needs a guy that knows his system and he can trust to install the game plan during the week.

The original plan was Lilly and McClendon.

Now the plan is Thomas Brown and ?

I still think Lilly is in play and would be perfect.

I like the idea of keeping Beard if possible.

There is nobody available that would be better.

Lily as co-OC/TEC would have been great but that ship sailed, unfortunately.
 
I don't think the Lilly thing is over.

Originally, he was the most likely coach to follow Richt but it was allegedly shot down by his wife.

He is very close with Richt and he is unemployed.
 
I would love for beard to come back and hire cristobal or Lilly for te/ co oc. However I do know Lilly has his eyes set on the NFL

Goes to show that he must really see some potential in Beard to let him be the only person on the old staff allowed to even interview to keep their job. Im pretty sure he was told that there were other guys on their board that were higher up but that he would be in serious consideration. If they didnt tell him hopefully he is smart enough to know that.

IMO he is a great plan B option to have in the back pocket. I would be highly disappointed if he and Rumph cant run shop through SoFla and be A+ recruiters for us down here.
