During his Miami visit last week he sat down with Jason Taylor and Rod Wright, and the pair went through Deen’s game film and critiqued it.

They didn’t tell Deen how great he was.

They didn’t try to sell Deen on his opportunity to start if he picked Miami.

The duo showed Deen how he could vastly improve his game with the tutelage of the Miami coaching staff.

“After we sat down and talked about the film with those guys, I knew,” Deen said. “I knew I was going there.”
Deen says in that meeting that “Watching my film, they critiqued how I could get better in their system. Jason Taylor was a great player in his own right, he took my film, told me how I drifted on my pass rush, talked about my inefficiencies in my pass rush, how he could make it more efficient, a more improved rush. Coach (Rod) Wright did the same thing in the run game. They really impressed me with their knowledge.”

Anyone who wants to ***** at this pickup could get ****ed. Guys like Jordan Davis or Jalen Carter ain't walking through that door anytime soon.
right let's be real, you don't want to be shopping in the portal for DTs. look back thru the 247 transfer portal rankings the last two seasons, you can count the number of DTs on two hands. the best of the bunch are either productive smaller school or lower P5 players or kids like Adeleye from A&M who were highly ranked but haven't produced. you can probably find some depth pieces which it looks like we've done, but the guys you need at that position to really compete at high levels are going to come thru recruiting.

Lost Roberts, Miller, Jackson, Haye at DT and replaced them with this dude and Gore. A couple more DT's would be solid. Preferably Rogers being one of them.

Out
Roberts
Miller
Jackson
Haye

In
Horton
Deen
Gore

Returning
LT
JHH
Mesidor
Moten

Add one NG and the DT/NG is significantyl better than last year.

Watched a little of his film looks quick and uses hands well. Will be solid and can hopefully hold up against the run. Probably better than LT56 but that will upset a lot of ppl here. Dude is a consistent contributor the last few years for Purdue. Should finish with 20+ tackles and a few sacks.

he's 6'2 290 and he's not a high school recruit with no tape, he's a grad transfer who's made honorable mention in the big 10 the last two seasons and generated the 6th most pressures in the fbs (more than any of our big guys)

the reality is that whining about a 290lb DT is just absurd. the staff can throw ten pounds on him if they see fit before the season begins but being 290 is not a disadvantage in the ACC. the BIG 10 has much bigger and more talented OL fronts than the ACC does and this guy performed very well

I’ll be surprised if he’s 280. He’s LISTED at 6-2 285 iirc and if you see him, he sure as **** doesn’t look it.

Anyway, we’ll see how he does.
