Not sure where to begin:

1. How many HCs were coaching the D for the 3 years prior to taking their gig? Didn't Manny know, at least, half the players on the team? Didn't he recruit those players?

2. Why does it matter that no HC was fired after year 1? Does that mean it shouldn't be done?

Mike Haywood was fired before a year. Cam Cameron, Mike Price, George O'Leary and Bobby Petrino.

None of this means anything.

Butch Davis?

If the UM athletic department just spent half the time they spend on spinning narratives through the soft miami media we would be so much better.

UM intends to retain Manny Diaz as coach next season regardless of how this season finishes, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
Diaz is 6-5 in his first year at UM, with the Hurricanes set to conclude their season Saturday at Duke and in an undetermined bowl game. But even if Miami loses both of those games, Diaz will not be fired.

The administration has faith in Diaz and believes judging him one season into a five-year contract would be unfair and premature. There’s no Board of Trustee pressure to make a coaching change, even after Saturday’s stunning loss to FIU.
There are several examples of coaches who rallied after poor first seasons. UM is well aware, for example, that Matt Rhule was 1-11 in his first year at Baylor in 2017 and has rebounded to go 7-6 last season and 10-1 this season entering Saturday’s regular-season finale at Kansas...

Matt Rhule had track record as a HC, stupid to use him as an example. We’re fvcked. Only thing I like was the use of the word “intend” at the beginning, gives some hope his *** will get let go, along with Blake!
What they mean is admitting is mistake this early would be embarrassing and premature.

You're not intelligent. But we knew that.

Haywood at Pitt.

Price at Bama.

O'Leary at ND.

Petrino and Cameron also were fired after 1 year. Yes, it was the NFL. Those are examples.

By the way, you disregarded the rest of the post. Even if it was NEVER done before, that doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. How about that part about knowing 50% of the team before you became the HC?
Haywood was arrested for domestic violence, Price got caught at a strip club right after he got hired, and O'Leary got busted for lying on his resume. Completely apples and oranges discussions. You are honestly one of the most delusional and narcissistic posters on here and that's saying a ton.

And you’re a potato and consistent porster. You were provided with examples and clarification of said examples.

You also disregarded a lot of the post.

I like how your original googling, when I first posted the names, got you incorrect info.

IDGAF. Why? I already knew we’re in for at least 2 more years of “Please pass the chimichangas” after a clown show loss.

This helps. Manny was never going to be fired after 1 season. Frankly it sets a horrible precedent, Who the **** thats any good would want to coach here next if you have 1 season to turn the ship? And it's not like we have $7-8M/year to throw a a coach, especially with whatever Manny's buyout is. It's actually the reason you see certain coaches just stay put at low-end P5 jobs. They can bank $2-3M/year still and never get fired unless things get really bad.

Next year if Manny goes 6-6 or worse again, he'll be done though. 7-6, 8-5 is where it gets dicey and he prob gets a third year.
If he loses to Temple I don’t see how they don’t fire him. That’s apples to apples easily for them to compare.

So not only are they incompetent, they are insulting as well.

I’m somewhere between angry and apathetic.

I just can’t stomach a scenario where no meaningful changes are made to the football program

The thought of going into fall 2020 with the same coaching staff has me pretty depressed

There are several example of coaches who rallied after poor 1st seasons, however, there are much more examples of corches who did not rally after their first season.
