In the last five years, Richt has three double-digit winning seasons and two top 10 finishes; Butch has a few appearances on television.

Some of you need your head checked. You can be disappointed that Butch isn't the guy; but BS arguments that Richt will be disastrous here has NO BASIS in fact. None.

Mark Richt is indeed in Miami today and was with Blake in the early afternoon.

More than one person thinks the job is his if he wants it.

Schiano's interview went well, according to sources. One UM source said some key decision makers have Schiano second on the list behind Richt who is first, ahead of Davis [that is third].

There are conflicting views internally about Davis. Some key UM people believe he's a flawed candidate and worry about NCAA penalties against North Carolina during his tenure, even though he wasn't directly implicated by the NCAA and even though the academic cheating scandal predates his arrival.

Butch was cleared so anyone who is unaware shouldn't use that as a point to dismiss his candidacy. If you're skeptical because of his UNC appearance and gap in employment that is a different and relevant point. No one should have Schiano > Butch, Schiano's wife would rather *** Butch.

I don't know that he has enough fire in him to succeed in a place like Miami and win a national title.

Motivation and fire is not an issue with Butch.

Richt did do this:

So he moved up a couple spots on my big board.

We need to do that whole team on the field celebration when Walton gives us the lead against the Noles next year.

reports that blake has to sell him on the job, him being unsure of if he wants to jump back in to coaching? ***** that give me a motivated butch all day

GF

We are hearing that Virginia and Maryland have been told no by Richt.

We are pretty sure that means its the Miami job or bust right now for him.

Perhaps, but that's subjective and could be bunk.

Objectively speaking, there's no question that Richt is the far better candidate than 2015-2016 Butch Davis. The BBB movement fails to acknowledge that they HOPE that Butch can get us to a place where we're winning double-digit games each year, whereas Richt has ACTUALLY DONE IT in the recent past.

F*ck, sure hire the guy who was just fired from his previous job for not being able to win the big games. Woohoo, perennial 8 & 9 win seasons here we come.

Perennial 8 and 9 wins seasons despite the fact that the article specifically mentioned that he won 10+ games in 9 of 14 full seasons in the SEC? Where do you guys come up with this stuff?

What a disaster if we end up with Schiano.

I'd still prefer Butch, but I'll take Richt in a heartbeat over Schiano.

Butch went 8-5 in his three seasons at UNC and never sniffed a BCS bowl. So...good point, I guess?
