They are the exact same person. Unless you also hated the prospect of Butch returning, I don't understand why you or anyone would be upset.

But we'd love to hire the guy who has one ten win season 15 years ago. But he brings all the savages? Well Richt has 36 guys on NFL rosters right now.
 
With all the smoke this afternoon, I can't imagine them picking Schiano. It would be a national embarrassment.

Some people would have jumped all in if the following coaches would have been fired and instantly becoming candidates for the job:
A: Charlie Strong B: Chuck Pagano C: Chip Kelly. Just because you "fail" in one place doesn't mean you will "fail" elsewhere. As much, winning in one place doesn't guarantee you can win anywhere. Its really ASSinine logic to fit your wants.

Mark Richt is indeed in Miami today and was with Blake in the early afternoon.

More than one person thinks the job is his if he wants it.

Schiano's interview went well, according to sources. One UM source said some key decision makers have Schiano second on the list behind Richt who is first, ahead of Davis [that is third].

There are conflicting views internally about Davis. Some key UM people believe he's a flawed candidate and worry about NCAA penalties against North Carolina during his tenure, even though he wasn't directly implicated by the NCAA and even though the academic cheating scandal predates his arrival.
 
Richt would kill it at Miami. I seriously don't get some of you. On top of that he has a lot to prove. Hasn't won the big one. I'll take him, Butch or Schiano. I'm happy as **** if we get any of the 3

Yea let's find a real overachiever, like Schiano at Rutgers, Al Golden at Temple, or Cristobal at FIU.

frankly i am not against Richt but i say no way he takes the job. just don't see him diving back into coaching this year.

Naw you see. Only Butch can use never winning the big one as the ultimate motivation. Richt wouldn't be hyped to win a NC title at his alma mater and prove the naysayers about him wrong. The revenge factor is reserved for Butch only.
 
I hope he doesn't and the others get snatched up and they have to crawl back to Butch and he gives them the cold shoulder
