Barry Jackson on U team at present

Yea ive been sitting here waiting for them to counter your point and have yet to see it unless i missed it

It doesn’t do any good. I pointed out in another thread that Dorsey was a 56% passer in 2001, and his response was something crawfishy about there always being an exception to the rule. I could have easily pointed out that 4 of our 5 championship teams were led by sub-60% guys, but sometimes it’s best to let people wallow in their delusions.

I’m still going to disagree. The blame in that game falls on the O-line’s inability to create more than 16 yards running room for our backs, and I’m going to hold to that until someone can show me a game that was won last season with fewer yards rushing.

I can’t even believe I’m having to argue this. This is about as fundamental as it gets. If you can hold an opposing team’s running backs to 16 yards, you win 99.99999% of the time regardless of all other factors. The 1970 Thundering Herd could even beat a team that only managed 16 yards rushing.

Bruh if a team is killing your run game and you have guys streaking open downfield and he cant connect thats on the QB, if he connected on those there would be a different stat line

Must have missed that in the slew of posts

Malik ain’t that guy, and he was not about to magically become that guy for 1 game. You’ll never hear me argue otherwise. But Pitt should never be allowed to contain our backs to 16 yards with 7 guys in coverage. Even if Malik is his normal 54% self we lose that game.

We also got 125 yards rushing from Mark Walton on 14 carries (8.9 avg) and another 28 from Joe Yearby that game.

And? Kaaya was lighting them up im the air something malik couldn’t do against a less talented pitt team also didn’t walton have a huge run in that game in the end?

kaaya destroyed a better pitt team the year before

LOL..."a better pitt team"?

Pitt's pass D was $h!t in 2016, so of course Kaaya destroyed em'.

However what they did against Rosier was more par for course, they were ranked 26th in pass completion percentage against...while they were ranked 121st in 2016 when Kaaya did what most of the the QBs they faced did against em'.

Well unlike Perry we’ve actually seen Williams , beens Perry never showed up. And everyone that’s seen them at practice says Williams is the most talented , and purest passer. That one is obvious , especially if you seen them throw at the spring gm.

Last year was all Ariz starting bs. We actually have some physical substance with Williams. Rather than hype.

Also one EE and the other didn’t,so it’s not exactly apples and apples.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think we've seen anymore of Williams at this stage of his young career than we did of Perry last year. Also, most "everyone" (that could be 1 person or 1000) that saw Perry were cooing about his superstar talent, just as we are currently witnessing on this site today relating to Williams.

Again, I hope Williams is so fantastic that he even makes us forget about, at least temporarily, former great UM quarterbacks. Yet, as as been said, history has a way of repeating itself, and as I watch this situation play out it sure looks to be a carbon copy of the Perry carnival of last year. The only difference being that Williams might further develop over the coming year, which apparently was not the case for Perry.

Finally, hate has a way of skewing one's comprehension, judgement and actions, and the hate spewed by countless CIS'ers aimed at Malik Rosier is sickeningly palpable, along with being one of the most disheartening episodes in UM football player/fan history.

Didn’t they have 2 all ACC Dlinemen on that team?

I’ve already offered you the address to this basement one time, but I guess you’d rather just troll message boards and downvote people without being able to articulate an opposing opinion.

Your understanding of the early reports? LOL. All signs pointed to Rosier being the frontrunner.. What reports are these you speak of? Reports in your own mind?
See you automatically think the season is going to go down the drain because we start perry or williams thats just stupid especially when you said in your same statement that our schedule is cake, saban started a true freshman, so did kirby you can win starting them, but i got a question talent wise who is the best of the group? Because you are more about experience than talent it seems

Saban didn't start a True freshmen. Hurts was the starter for the whole season up until the second half of the natty game. Now if you mean Hurts from two years ago..if you think we have Bama type talent from that season at every position across the board then ****..I guess you win this argument then.
Meanwhile in the real world, everyone knows our OL talent/depth is questionable at best, many posters are ready to throw Redwine and Dean to the wolves, if GWillis gets injured we are phucked, and we don't have a TE. But yeah, lets go ahead and roll with the Bama argument.

Ok for your first posthad nothing to do with rosier had to do with accuracy and QBs starting on top teams so no for that

Second post you said you should start expereince over obvious talent and i gave you examples, we dont have a bama schedule as you pointed out before, so all that shouldn’t matter, even though we probably have the best wideout depth in the ACC, my point and has been and saban and other elite coaches agree talent first overall but please answer my question out of all our QBs who has the most talent?

Agree to disagree is the rally cry of fools who are unable to articulate their point. I know what I’m about, son. Your threats don’t concern me. I’m 38 years old, served my time in the USMC...I’m your granny’s garden. Come get you a mess anytime you feel hungry.

There are many valid points throughout this discussion. I would definitely suggest rewatching all of our games; not the condensed versions but the whole games.
Malik is an average QB, and more importantly, with an average IQ for a QB. A lot of his play is predetermined which is different from anticipated. I wish he would have gotten the job over Kaaya because he is more instinctual and has a lot more heart, especially under pressure. That being said, he is still average.

What I’m really excited about is our depth. We not only have depth across the board ( which we haven’t had a years); But we have actually upgraded almost every position. This will be a very different team than many expect.

I said it a million times before - I think that an Air Raid offense suits our talent far better than the RPO. RPO means the line is run blocking almost every time and they are just too physically weak to push anyone off the ball (it looked like they even struggled against non P5 teams). With pass blocking they can mask the weakness with technique. RBs will feast with the huge run lanes. Combine that with a mobile, accurate qb and fast wrs and you average 50 ppg. With our weak OL any run game has to be manufactured by the RB himself, which isn't going to cut it against the more physical teams.

Wish CMR fire his son & searles, and hire you!

Only because I'm an idiot, I'll ask why you wish he'd gotten the job over Kaaya. I read what you wrote, but I don't get it. Kaaya put up better passing numbers and Rosier makes up for that with his running. Their numbers are similar and they both have huge holes in their game. Yes, Rosier has heart, but Kaaya won a few games right before the D re-lost them. I think our results would have been similar with Kaaya last year...think about how many games Kaaya lost throughout his career after the O put up 4+ TDs.

This isn't a post about Kaaya being great, I'm just saying I think he has the same talent level as Rosier. He's a better passer, Rosier's a better runner. Kaaya threw fewer INTs, Rosier ran the ball in where Kaaya would have settled for a FG. Both suffered because our OL can't dominate in run blocking situations.

Rosier isn't an upgrade, he's just weak in other areas.
