Al Golden is embarrassing for the program. the UM admin has kept him for going on 2 years too long. the guy was a deadman walking after 2013.

It may not change anything but Vindogg has confirmed that BOT and AD members are not happy with the banners.
 
To think its not getting noticed is crazy . If people want to make changes hit them in the pockets

They can be "not happy". Happiness is just a pursuit.

I would only be concerned if they were embarrassed, which is impossible because the BOT has no pride to embarrass.

Oddly enough, the banners may have an adverse affect that those who are flying them never intended. It could be a rallying cry for the team as a whole. Should that be the case, we all win since the team wins.

My sentiments exactly. I've never supported the banners (financially or otherwise) but as a fan who spends a fair amount of time on various Canes sites I can see that the fan base is super frustrated. I understand their pain.

I also think the banners could ultimately lead certain factions within the BoT to want to keep golden thru 2016 just to avoid being beaten in the arena of public opinion. (quite a bit of irony there).

Respectfully disagree. The banners have the opposite effect, they reinforce the belief that we have immature ******* "fans", and the BOT does not want to be seen as giving in to these type of "fans". Additionally, they really do hurt recruiting, so you are making the program less attractive to a future coach.

I think we are in agreement about the potential backlash from the banners, etc. That said, there is only ONE entity that has the power to rectify this situation and they are too busy blaming the symptoms to do anything about it. There is simply ZERO justification for al golden being the head coach at UM in 2015. ZERO! The reaction of the marketplace is just that, a RE-action. Its the action of the AD and BoT that has caused this problem, not the fans.

Agree 100%. The irony is, they dont accomplish the purported childish goals. Golden's future will depend on what he does on the field, and who is available to replace him.

The one where they want the guy being paid millions of dollars to do his job and if he can't, then they don't want him to remain in that position collecting money he doesn't deserve while ruining a once proud program?

That ain't exactly asking for the guy to get hit in the face with a pie and called a doo-doo head while someone makes a fart noise on the heels of their hands.
