Bama's Strength Coach

Interesting. Surprised they would pay him that much when everyone knows the S&C coach simply does what the head coach tells him to do.

Yeah, he must have a lot of NFL players who choose to live in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in the off-season, b/c it seems that is the true mark of a good SC coach.

the strength coach basically runs the team in spring and summer. Do we really want Swasey in charge of this program still? everything that we've done over the last 10 years needs to change.

Clean house at UM, but this dude Cochrane is the ultimate hype monster. Because he's been on a bunch of TV shows screaming and yelling like a mental patient everyone thinks he's doing what no one else can do.

What ever happened to Mike Barwis? He was all the rage in strength and conditioning like 5 yrs ago at Michigan. Vaguely remembered him getting in trouble over excess practice time allegations.

Feature him on 60 Minutes Sports screaming like a mental patient, and he'll soar back to the top of the hype S&C rankings.

He is. He's elite just like Mickey Marroti at OSU and Vic Valoria at FSU. He may scream a lot but he is more than qualified and elite at his job. Bama's recovery and restoration program is insane

You know Saban is on board when he lets this psychopath get on the jumbotron 10 times a game screaming at the crowd to make noise. This guy literally must have the most disciplined methamphetamine habit of all time.

He had his own show called "American Muscle". I think it only lasted a couple episodes. Showed him training a bunch of NFL guys including Suh. His gym is somewhere in Michigan. Every episode they had 14' of snow. **** that.

He's no genius. He's just somewhere that pumps zillions of dollars into their football program. He's not doing anything that a million other guys couldn't do with the same resources.

Some of the stuff swasey does doesnt make sense like having a qb overhead press

Care to elaborate why that doesn't make sense? It gets parroted a lot but outside of poor technique and orthopedic concerns (which you wouldn't know, positively, without an X-ray to determine the shape of the acromium process), I don't understand the fuss about overhead pressing. Do they overhead press with a barbell or is it done with a football bar, DB in a neutral grip or a landmine? It's not a black and white, right and wrong topic.

I've said plenty of times that I'm not fond of guys being the business with out the education so idgaf what happens to Swasey but to make this judgement based on video clips that last minutes, without having any idea over the yearly planning or structure of the program isn't how this should work.

Fairly certain he still owns that private facility in Michigan. He does (or has done, previously at least) a lot of work with spinal injury clients, as well.
