It's no secret schools pay recruits; it's just the SEC schools care more about football and have more boosters who are willing to spend more $$$ than most of the other P5 schools. ACC and $EC do the same with B-ball.

The SEC schools only care more bc football revenues drive the local economy in those Podunk towns.

Not what drives it at all. There are a ton of business owners in Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia and Texas making more money than Wall Street guys with under the radar businesses in things like oil, steel, and aggregates who love football and are willing to do whatever it takes to make their teams successful.
