Back from the game(another Observation thread)

Your take on Yearby is draped in hate based on how much you put Gus on a pedestal.

Not trying to hate on any of our rbs, they are canes, but Vern is kinda right. It remains to be seen how they perform against better talent. On A lot of our longs runs, the defender(s) was just a split second late or out of place. Against this level competition, one would expect to see more glaring separation in performance. It just shouldn't be so close. Walton is fast but I am not sure if fast enough. Joe is shifty but not as shifty as last year. It remains to be seen what happens against better competition. Also, although Walton is faster than Joe, I am not so sure if Joe's shiftiness isnt the skillset that will transfer better against bettet competition. And I wonder if the competition for #1 rb is still on going, which is why we only saw those 2 against Fau?

Not at all I just gave Walton credit he looks improved much mor explosive...Yearby looks the same as he did last year even with the weight loss... I'm never biased when it comes to these canes I've always said Yearby is the most instinctual runner

Jackson is the one that got trucked in the long TD run. Not sure how you are blaming Jenkins for that.

About the Dline getting gassed, well that's what happens when you don't have depth. This is going to be one of the biggest problems for us, not just at DL, but throughout the roster. 4th quarter against FSU we'll see how much our lack of depth hurts us.

Berries just got a PR TD last game. Don't trip on his return skills because he didn't return one both games. I think Corn is our best returner but I'm not really tripping. In important situation Corn should probably be back there though. Obviously we can't risk Coley being back there. Bruce likely will get action as a returner, but he's suspended. I'm not very worried about our returners.

They'll have to reattach Bruce's leg before he can return kicks, no?

Both out safties worry me. Carter lacks the instincts and Jenkins needs to learn how to wrap up. His tackling fundamentals are awful.

Go Canes!

Next man up than,, I don't care the entire team can be true freshman starters at this point. If the upper class man cant make the play than the next man up. Transfer out to make room for Richt kids. Kaaya plays like this again he needs to be benched , he doesn't get a free pass to lose the game . We have back ups 3 and 4 deep at QB who can make throws down the field.. The realistic part if Kaaya was to come back he might get beat out by Perry a true freshman.... Texas true freshman makes plays ,, Loooserville young qb makes plays ,, Kaaya junior losses games for us?

The most important thing is not getting gashed by the run game. And it's crazy, when we blitz under No D we always got gashed or stone wall blocked. They get home with Diaz, or force bad throws. I love it. Our LBs are going to be sick the next 3 years.

Jenkins missed the first tackle in the hole. That play was definitely on him.

Agreed with Vern. Walton is our best back as I thought he would be. He just brings the total package although he doesn't jump off the screen. Just a good back all around.

Our secondary scares the **** out of me.

Our DL jumps off the screen. Jackson is going to be a monster. Crazy how a change in DCs has completely changed guys like Chad.

He is out for the year with a broken leg so probably not playing this year

Not trying to knock Kaaya, and unfortunatily I missed the game yesterday, but it sounds like a classic case of a QB that is scared in the pocket. If he is sailing everything high and is off the mark he is rushing his throws and throwing off his back foot (I know capitain obvious).

If Richt is a QB guru as many have said it looks like has has his work cut out but in more of a mental capacity. Kaaya has the tools but we have all seen many QB's go down the tubes because they could not get their heads straight. Kaaya has a lot of money riding on his confidence at this point. If the OL is that bad then Kaaya is going to need to learn to move and throw on the move to save his life and his future career in the NFL.

I thought we were a 10 win team with Brad Kaaya playing good ball. He is simply not playing good ball right now. I think they need to get him comfortable in a hurry, because something is WAY off with him. He looks rusty as ****, and there is no excuse for that. I don't understand why they aren't targetting Berrios AT ALL. Best way to snap a QB out of a funk is by letting him throw to his go to guy. I just don't get the lack of touches for BB.

But hey, had you told me we'd look that bad on O and walk away with a 28 point win, I'd have laughed at you. As bad as we were, it wasn't a close game. Our D is good, and will get better with guys returning. Just very concerned about Kaaya. Something looks wrong, and it's not just the O-line. HE looks off.
Maybe it's the elephant in the room. Kaaya may be who we think he is..just another guy

I didn't see it mentioned here but I was really excited about the effort that Patrick Bethel had on that drive where FAU scored. He was almost able to make a play on Howell before he scored. I thought the knock on him was his speed now I know long speed doesn't matter for a DE but it was nice to see 30yds down the field on a meaningless TD. I agree one hundred percent on Kayaa doesn't look comfortable or anything near what I was expecting come into the year. Likewise Walton is fast, although their linebackers aren't fast, their secondary has plenty of fast players and Walton was easily running by them which was nice to see. Njoku has to have one of those catches in the bIggles games. End analysis.

Deep breath. Kaaya had a bad game. Your last comment is a head scratcher, I thought we won?

Jenkins is #26 right

Would Jenkins been recruited by Richt? Jackson Db needs to transfer to JSU

"Jenkins gives up another TD on a missed tackle I dont trust him at all"

I had flashbacks on the missed tackle for the TD......

There is still a little Golden residue left on this team..... But, not much.....

I've noticed something off with brad ever since that ACC media day he just don't look comfortable in his own skin it almost like he suffers from anxiety.

Hopefully he pulls his head out his 4th point of contact by the next game.

Kaaya was **** near perfect against famu. Not sure what you're talking about. And Jenkins was the of five guys to miss tackles on that rushing td. Michael Jackson missed the biggest tackle on that play in my opinion. Jenkins also made a huge tackle earlier in the game and was making plays

Yeah I forgot about that. We've had too many injuries in the last two weeks. I can't even remember what everyone's got or how long they'll be out for.

But a broken leg usually isn't a season ending injury, not like an ACL is. usually 6-8 weeks for bones to heal.

I'm glad I'm not the only one when it comes to Carter.. Kid is not a safety he has terrible ball instincts and he's a senior no way he should get a penalty like that.
