Athlon UM season preview and predictions

Canecum5 with another brain rattling post

So, what did you add to the board by being hoe mo erotic and adding *** into my name? :youre-nuts:

You bored? You want to rile shid up? Tell me why we should be worried about weak *** BC and not UNC, the team who almost beat us with 2 stars and walk ons.

Yes 2005 with Kyle Wright leading the way lol. The defense played lights out too, kinda similar to 2014 except the 2005 game had higher stakes. Hopefully Va Tech comes in limping into that game.
Defense played great that night, but it helps a lot when the other team's offensive gives it up 8 times

Miami Football: Game-by-Game Predictions for 2018

I found the article to be pretty honest/objective. That said, I think we go 11-1 or 12-0 heading into the ACCCG.

They all have us losing at VT. I know that game will be tough, but I think BC will be more dangerous on the road.

Those Athlon dipsh!tes made a major miscalculation.

If Miami goes 6-2 in the ACC, with a loss to VaTech (who would then own a tiebreaker over us), we would need VaTech to finish 5-3 in-conference if we are going to the ACC-CG (which they seem to predict).

Now, follow along with me. Because VaTech will beat Miami (according to these geniuses), that would mean VaTech would go 4-3 against the following competition:

@ F$U
@ Duke
@ UNC
GaTech
BC
@ Pitt
UVa

I just don't see it. There's no way in **** that a VaTech team that is good enough to beat ACC-Coastal champ Miami will then go 4-3 against that slate of competition.

Miami will beat VaTech.

Miami is going to run the table in the regular season, barring any sort of freakish injury that wrecks us in a particular game (i.e., Malik goes down when Miami is behind, and his replacement can't quite rally us to victory).

How about your loser *** actually go on the site of the team you’re a fan of , rather than spend hours trying to troll. It’s sad!

If anyone thinks we beat LSU and FSU and then have problems with BC - WTF?

I mean anyone can lose a let down game, but I'm not seieng it from this side of the season going in, with VT either - not sure how people think we beat LSU and FSU, but have problems with these 2 teams.
Didnt we handle VT and ND but struggled against UNC then lost to Pitt? We still havent proven that we're a consistent team so of course the media is going to predict a loss somwhere.

I keep seeing a lot of our fans thinking BC is really going to be a tough game, I can't tell anybody how to think but did you guys watch them at all last year? They are a 7 win team on their best day, they got smoked by Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Clemson & Va Tech.

In fact, let's break these fools down real quick; They gave up 382.8ypg on defense last year, 191.2 rushing ypg on defense & was 38% in 3rd down conversion as an offense.

Their QB threw for 1,367yds 11TD's & 9INT's as a 51.9% passer & only had 210yds rushing. He's incredibly inaccurate & our Defense will put heavy pressure on him, he's not a GTech QB. And none of their WR's caught more than 36rec.

They literally have ONE offensive weapon, the RB AJ Dillon. He had 1,589yds & 14TD's which is great, but look a little closer, he had 43yds vs Wake, 58yds vs Notre Dame, 57yds vs Clemson & 35yds vs Va Tech. He got most of his yards vs LVille, FSU, NC St, UConn & Cuse.

I'm not saying it's going to be a cakewalk game, but their inability to throw the ball plays right into our strengths denfensively. We struggle against teams that can spread the ball around the field & go uptempo, BC is a bottom caliber ACC/Big East team that plays old style phone booth offense of running the ball all game long & hoping to catch you asleep. I think we beat them handily, they simply don't have the firepower to keep up.

The only games I think are questionable are FSU (rivalry game always close, but we beat them in Miami), @ Va Tech & home vs UNC. We should blow UNC out every year, but for whatever reason they always have a beat on Richt's offense, we've struggled 2 years in a row vs them despite having superior talent. I think we win, but playing Miami is their Superbowl every year.

Oh & before one yall even say it, no we're not losing to GTech, Richt is 15-2 vs them. Take the 1st half of 2016 game+2nd half of the 2017 game= that's how the game will go lol

You left out that BC would have had a better record last year had their starting QB not got hurt.

They have the best OL in the ACC, the best RB, and a loaded defense that has 3 pre-season All-Americans.

They're a pretty good team THIS YEAR, who gives a **** what they were in the past. They're certainly far, far better than the Pitt team that beat us last year. **** they beat FSU 35-3 last year when they had a healthy team.

Being arrogant and ****y doesn't change the reality. There's a reason a lot of the national media is pointing to that as one of our hardest games

We also have to take this into account. Injuries are going to happen and can determine a game.

LOL @ FSU being a top 3 team in terms of talent. Where do you idiots come up with this stuff?
They are top 5 in the talent composite rankings.

Our fans seem to think we smacked them up and down the field. Go back and watch the game against them. They controlled both lines of scrimmage for most of the game and we didnt have a pulse until Ahmmon knocked buddy out.

I was surprised to sniff a hint that these guys think that what's holding us back - or what could conceivably hold us back - is Rosier - and maybe Richt's offense.

I clicked on two more articles on UM - and that was a bit surprising, although it really shouldn't be. They pointed out what's happened at UGA since Richt left - and his big game/conference championships while he WAS there.

I guess we'll see.

Who said anything about arrogant & ****y? I pointed out that they're not that good of team because they're not & the stats prove it.

You think they have the best RB in the ACC, well I showed that AJ Dillon didn't show up against teams with a legit defense. Beating FSU last year isn't impressive considering that team quit on Jumbo & their season was completely over after losing Francois.

You guys think BC is a good team & is going to be a tough game for us, I disagree. I think they don't have enough to stop us on either side of the ball & that's based on how they performed last year not 17 years ago. Their QB is a 51% passer & they don't have any WR's worth a ****. Wake, Notre Dame, Va Tech & Clemson all showed that if you stop the run you shut them down completely.

That BC game is on a Friday (their red bandana game) in probably 20 degree weather. You can throw all them stats out the window. If they were playing in Miami, yes, we would beat the **** out of them...

Average low temperature on October 26 in Boston is 44 degrees.
Can't wait to experience that beautiful 50 degree night.

What are you talking about?

lmao. You got me confused with another one of you "No Lifers" you like to get into endless - meaningless debates with.

Take it one game at a time and for each game prepare like your playing then best team in the world.

What happened 17 years ago has absolutely nothing to do with what they are now.

Maybe true, but BC is going to have a pretty solid team this year. They got a lot of hype from pundits because of a lot of NFL talent that’s supposedly on their roster. I don’t know if the hype is justified, but we’ve lost to teams before that we fail to take seriously and we shouldn’t make that mistake here.

I think UM should out-athlete and out-depth them but isn't that a prime time Thursday night game? Those can be tough, I think that's the variable that people are counting on(those who think it will be a tough out). Again that game is at the end of October what we dont know is the injuries both teams have, momentum, etc.

You know Miami will be back when a game of this nature, the Canes just take care of real easily and not struggle like they did last year vs UNC or the loss to Pitt...

And for the record, I think BC will be a pretty solid club this season.
