At this point are we expecting Lyle and brown to return?

That and people saying they're over him not being healthy. How in the **** do you think he feels? Nobody chooses to be injured and it isn't typically because you're f'ing off of the field of play. The narrative of some on his injuries is just weird as ****.

Ahh yes Damari Brown can't stay healthy so he should leave, when the portal is already close and there is no one near his level there. So basically either stay here and worst case scenario he doesn't play because of another injury or leave and he automatically doesn't play. CIS logic remains undefeated.

Honestly I'm shocked Lyle wasn't like one of the very first ones to hit the portal.

At this point though, I'd absolutely expect to lose another couple guys After Spring. I don't see us pulling any of these lame *** moves to try to force guys to stay. Obviously if we don't want to lose them we'll try to keep them, but if they want to go we're not going to sue them. And after Spring some guys will graduate. Others will lose out competitions...

We have never shown the ability to have more than a 3 person RB rotation. Fletcher returning is going to be the #1 back. Pringle SHOULD have the head start on the #2 role, but also isn't someone I think will need more than like 33% snap share or anything. Brown and Lyle could just view themselves as competing for that 3rd person role in Spring, and lose of the competition may portal out. I mean ****, best case scenario is Lyle really was just extremely limited due to his early injury, and is actually the guy we all hoped he'd be.... but I have zero faith. He'll have to actually prove it on gamedays before I believe it. If he is.... This RB room will be cookin...

DB... I'm less confident we don't see one guy dip. I'm actually still surprised Damari hasn't done his annual portal flirtation. Damari may have the best build+athleticism of the CBs we have and played far better this year than previous years. But god **** this dude is ALWAYS injured. If he tries to threaten portalling out, I'd let him walk tbh. I'd be down to enter next season with OJ+Lucas starting, and O'Connor+Antione as heavy rotation guys.

HOWEVER that all can be flipped depending what happens at nickel. I'm not sure heatherman is going to play nickel the exact same we did this year with Scott. May see a bit different gameplan. And who is going to be the starter there. Like what If someone like Damari was willing to slide inside? I'd want to see literally ALL of the younger CBs throw their hat in that ring and see who comes out on top. And of course could have Thompson/Poyser/Day competing for that role too....

That doesn't matter.
A) Portal windows don't matter for grad transfers - and most guys graduate after spring
B) Any player can unenroll anywhere and then go and take visits and enroll where they want for summer.

The lack of Spring portal window will certainly stop a **** load of movement, but it wont stop it all. It especially won't stop Specific movements like if a guy is being tampered to fill a hole with guaranteed starting reps+Nil. For instance look at our top 5 CBs... We rotated them all really well for the most part when they were all healthy, but what if a SEC/B1G level program discoveres they have a major need at CB after their Spring? They can offer a full time starting job and more NIL? ... tough to keep

The BC kid is likely the nickel but we also don’t have a ton of experienced safeties. Fitz will need to improve his run defense. We rotated 3 safeties most of the year due to minor injuries. Day maybe the 3rd next year or the BC kid is the 3rd and we find a nickel.

To me the BC kid is the replacement for Jakobe. Could be wrong though

I agree. I think Pruitt is the best fit on the team to do everything that is asked of a nickel in this defense. Pruitt has the speed, coverage ability, size (pause) necessary to be a difference maker at nickel.

Is Wednesday of next week the last official day we could hear about entrants? With Monday being the day they have to notify? Thought it was 5 business days with 48hr to enter.

Some of you in this thread are talking pure nonsense about D. Brown. A lot of players get hurt. It’s football. Put down the PS5. We need him.
 
I genuinely cannot believe all these kids decided to come back. It’s shocking. I just hope whoever the odd man out (men?) is won’t be a distraction. Because at least 2 of these kids are gonna be BURIED on that bench unless we have major injuries.

Good problem to have, but I’m genuinely shocked. I’d have put one of Marty, Lyle or Pringle transferring at like -5000.
