At this point are we expecting Lyle and brown to return?

Availability. Let's see if he gets back on the field.

Lyle and Damari Brown have spent more time on the portal bubble and as hype beasts than they have being productive on the field.

So every criticism they got and get is fair.

2026 is a new year. Let them get after it and actually prove the hype correct.

QB: Mensah(Potentially)
RB: Fletcher, Brown, Lyle, Pringle
WR: Toney, Barkate(Potentially), Jacobs, Vaughn, Moore
TE: Lofton, Gilbert

Now we just need an OL and a TE. Skill positions should be incredible.

I genuinely cannot believe all these kids decided to come back. It’s shocking. I just hope whoever the odd man out (men?) is won’t be a distraction. Because at least 2 of these kids are gonna be BURIED on that bench unless we have major injuries.

Good problem to have, but I’m genuinely shocked. I’d have put one of Marty, Lyle or Pringle transferring at like -5000.

Ya I just figured it was a lock we were losing 1 and an outside chance we lose 2

There always are injuries. 4 is really 3

If you can’t play because of the same injury then how are you the “goods?” I understand what you’re trying to say but at some point you need to move on with someone who is reliable. Should be interesting to see if he stays.
The same injury that put Jack Lambert out of the NFL. One of the toughest SOBs to ever put a helmet on.

Let’s let him try and figure it out. I see your point as well…but we push out D. Brown then Robby Washington is going to get his protest on Miami together 😂

Would like to see Dawson bring back some of the two back sets he ran during the middle of the season. It provided a nice wrinkle in the run game as well as incorporating the backs in the passing game.

With the personnel Dawson has to work with he can be creative with where he puts guys. Bartake, Vaughn, Jones out wide; Mali and Lofton in the backfield would be a unique wrinkle that would create matchup problems for defenses.
To me, this was the most surprising thing missing from our playoff run. THIS was the way to get #22 into games without overly exposing him to pass pro, not to mention the monsters that Fletcher and Brown were in terms of lead blocking.

Not sure why we went away from this. Hard to argue with the results with Fletcher taking off the way he did; just really odd that we didnt continue to see this personnel grouping (2 backs) on the field more during the run.

Gavin Mueller's a beast! He's an elite athlete at TE. If he has a true frosh coming out like Mali, Fitz, Pringle, etc., he could be that legit passing threat we had when Arroyo was here (and healthy).

Man, the offense is so close to being the best in the country before the season even starts. A bit of help on the OL and TE. That's all it needs.

the Canes have had really good roster retention in this portal cycle(only a couple of meaningful losses IMO) but I am pleasantly surprised that Jordan Lyle is returning.

I haven't given up on himHe was our starting RB in the opener vs ND. He flashed big play ability in '24. Things just didn't go his way this season. It happens.

Ive seen players have the dreaded 'sophomore slump' (Leonard Hankerson and Stacey Coley) and then rebound strong to finish out their UM careers. It can happen with LyleMiami now has a really deep and talented RB room.

Again, if you think you're going to make a deep playoff run, you need more than just a couple guys.

In my forthcoming post “Things I Was Wrong About”, Lyle will be front and center. Steadfastly believed he was the best back on the roster.

Are you OK? You’ve had some very questionable takes lately for somebody that I almost always agree with.
