At least play all the kids

I look at it like this. You’re getting torched through the air already w/ upperclasssmen. Not filling gaps with upperclassmen lbs. why not just put the young guys in. If you afraid of getting embarrassed in the stat and score column you are already there weekly. What I have seen has been worse of the worse so how bad can the yougins be

They are playing for my next years season tickets. Might just start watching from home next season.

It is difficult because the record is largely on the coaches. So their stubbornness and/or incompetence have lead to a 2-3 record and dead season.

So now they swap out players to prep for the future…

TVD is the only player that should feel comfortable about his spot for next week. I keep trying to figure out who is a good player for Miami.
#6 (defense), #64, #90, #24 would all likely start on many decent teams.

Bunch of young guys and really young guys we don't know that much about. I'd want #31 to get at least 50% of snaps for remainder of the season, for example.

We are what we are and that’s been relatively clear since Southern Miss: average to below average in almost all aspects.

Can we make our now unlikely ‘run’ at the ACC coastal with more of Bissainthe, Chase Smith, Kelly, any new CBs (since they all get toasted or miscommunicate anyway), Skinner, a real snap distribution at WR, Cooper (OL), and ***whatever other experiments*** we can muster up the courage to try? Yeah, I can see we’re trickling them and different things in. This post is about fully opening the faucet.

Look, what Mario seemingly wants to do (discipline, ‘physical,’ etc.) and what he’s said he wants to build was never gonna happen overnight, but ***that doesn’t excuse the last three losses.*** It’s a brutal product to watch. He’s paid huge money and given much bigger resources than any other previous coach exactly so he can build his program WHILE winning at least the games he should. So far, he has failed at that.

Especially considering a loss to an MTSU team that’s even been rocked by a team (UAB) we took transfers from (who ironically mostly sit on our bench), among other ‘below average’ teams (UTSA and James Madison). And, now a 24 point showing against a weak UNC defense.

Mario will likely talk about the fumble and the mistakes players made, but I wish he’d mention we are plainly underperforming our [mediocre] talent and focus accountability on improved strategies. Our team takes forever to even get started, which is usually an indicator of prep/strategy.

So, fine. Keep hammering away at round holes with square pegs. Most fans have no real choice but to watch. ***But, let’s do that with most of the young guys, maybe?*** No need to slowly build up their snaps or try to win with the other guys. We’re already losing and climbing uphill in the ACC.

I think it’s our best hope to make this product feel less torturous.
The way we give our top players career altering injuries in practice, we wont have a choice..

#6 is good I agree although his motor runs cold a lot.
#64 is our best lineman but I've seen just much bad as I've seen good.
#90 is not big or fast enough to be considered good. Disappears for long stretches of the game.
#24 has been a disappointment I expected closer to Jaquon back there. He's still our best DB although I don't know if that is saying much.

Great post

We paid all this money for Mario and the team looks the same as when Manny was coach

Awful product to watch, same mistakes, same recruiting struggles (losing top local guys)

Like what are we doing here
Team looks worse than last season tbh

For as good a game as he had, his accuracy is erm... spotty.

Ball is constantly on the wrong shoulder / too high / too low - he doesn't make it easy for his receivers.

I'm absolutely off the train of him being an NFL prospect.

You are correct about some of throws but I think it was important for him just to build some confidence back up. He looked like he was just going through the motions the last 3 games . If he can build on this game he can start looking like a legit NFL QB again.

I don’t think anywhere but this place is ready to throw away the season already.
Yep get the sentiment but I dont think under pressure coaches think that way...

Oh I'll just toss out the freshman now, it will be practice habits and all that stuff first.

You're a smart poster and we played to win. We played to win with players we thought could win the game. A couple of plays here and there, guess what, we win.

You score with 4 plays inside the 2.

We don't go for it around the 50, kick it deep, and play defense.

Knighton doesn't fumble.

Mallory picks up that crucial down on a catchable ball.

Take any 2 of those four things, we likely win the game.

I don't get this thread. I understand the thinking, but why throw in the towel? That's how you lose a team.

In the post-game Mario said Arroyo is out for the season, so we can get used to seeing Skinner. Hopefully see him develop.

I'm just tired of seeing the same players make the same mistakes and don't get accounted for it. Mallory had one of the worst block attempts I've seen in this game that resulted in a TFL. He's atrocious at blocking.... Like one of the worst I've seen at this position ever in Canes history.
Here's an idea, stop putting a guy you know can't block without help in positions where he has to block without help. That's on Gattis and Mario for not telling his OC "Dude, you know he can't block, stop calling crap that requires him to do so. Either use a TE that can block, or stop using that concept altogether".

I've tried to give Gattis the benefit of the doubt, but it's obvious that he doesn't understand his personnel. Apparently, Colbie Young has been on the roster the entire time, and you aren't throwing a couple of jump balls to that guy in the redzone. Make that make sense. You have Mallory, who is at his best in the seams, flexed out, yet you keep trying to play him inline. You have a tough, gritty runner in Parrish, but here you are, using Rooster on 4th and 1, knowing that he has serious fumbling issues. If you are going to play power ball in the redzone, PLAY THAD. Better yet, stop trying to play power down deep in the RZ, it doesn't work, not with this roster. Spread out, make it easier for someone to win a battle.

He has potential, just want to see him be better with his hands, but that's something that will come with reps both in games and in practice.

Unfortunately a lot of the younger guys are the ones playing like utter *** cheeks.

James Williams, Kinchens, Couch, Avantae have all played TERRIBLE. Add that to Stevenson and Ivey and wow does the defensive backfield just suck.
