CaneHunt '14: DT Update | Thomas Holley talks OVs

5/1/13: *ESPN Recruiting Nation published a story today on DT prospect Thomas Holley from Brooklyn , N.Y. *(Abraham Lincoln.)

Holley has seen his recruiting stock soar since his offer from Miami and his attendance at regional combines. *The Under Armour All-American now has more than 20 offers.

“Everyone is recruiting me really hard,” says Holley.

Thomas has an idea on which schools will be on his official visit list.

“Definitely Alabama, Miami, Florida State, Penn State,” Holley said as to the teams that will be on his short list, “a couple other schools I want to do more research on. ... I’ll take my officials and have my decision by midseason or end of the season.”

Not just the coaches are recognizing Holley’s talent. *At a recent combine, fellow Cane prospect OT Quentin Nelson took notice…

“I didn’t get to go against him because he is a defensive tackle, but Thomas Holley from Brooklyn really impressed me. *I don’t think he lost a 1-on-1 and was very strong and explosive. I couldn’t believe that he has only played football for one year. He is very good.”

Hurricanes coaching staff have certainly made Thomas a major target at DT this year. *The battle will be tough, especially against Penn State. *As always prior to the fall, it’s a long way to NSD.

CaneHunt ’14: DT Update | Khairi Clark talks top 2

5/1/13: 247Sports tonight published an article on Khairi Clark. Clark named his top 2 schools, at this time. Our Hurricanes share the top spot with our hated rivals, the gators of Florida. Which program has the upper hand?

“Honestly, I can't even say, because I'm really liking Florida a lot. You can put them both at the top because I really had a great experience when I went up to Florida. It was nothing like I thought it would be. It was awesome.”

However, Miami is far from out of the fight.

“I always grew up watching Miami, I loved their football program,” he explained. “I always used to go to the games. It's a good fit for me because of the fact that they don't have a lot of defensive linemen, and if I go there and work hard, I can get playing time fast.”

He probably wont see a bowl game if he goes there, but we are in a recruiting battle with this university.Cant bring up negative recruiting on this battle because they're in over the head.

Penn State has made Thomas Holley a priority target. It will be tough to pull him out of the NE. Distance may become a major factor.

Until Holley gets on campus I don't think we have a shot.

Like I've been saying, give me Clark and Valentine and I'm straight.

Maybe emjay can get in Gaillard's ear about Miami. That'd be epic.

4 out of top 5 schools are not only out of state but not even in the north east region but location is in the major factor? makes sense
