Armondo Blount could break out this season

I’m actually starting to think that this D-Line can be as good or better than last season, which was a borderline blasphemous statement to make last January.
We have 4 guys who have to be thinking that, barring injury, they are ready to make a jump not only in production, but on NFL draft boards;
Scott, Moten, Blount and Lightfoot.

And before you tell me I’m crazy about Blount and Lightfoot, remember that they are 5 stars which means have already have the physical attributes NFL teams want. At their positions, one really good year is all it takes to become a high round draft pick. And I can guarantee that Blount and Lightfoot are thinking about doing exactly that.

It's pretty difficult to be objective here because Bain was just so unique, but if I compare this line to pre-Bain, things look real good.

I am willing to bet that this defensive line will be better. It’s just so deep (pause) with high level talent at every position.

Wilson?

I agree - there's an awful lot of talent on the DL for us, both inside and out. We might not be able to replace Bain with any one single player, but we've multiple guys to share that task.

This. The 2025 DEs were historic. Combined, AM and RB had 150+ hurries. Previous school record was around 49, IIRC. To do what they did was historic. If any of our 2026 get HALF of their production, we're still in good shape. Plus, we have better depth this year.

DT will be the big difference. Blay was meh most of the year and Moten and Scott really came on strong latter half.

I can’t believe I forget Wilson. Which means the starting position opposite Wilson becomes the player with the inside track to leave after 3 years.

He’s literally perfect for the role and it’s really the one thing this group lacks. Well lacks isn’t the right word for it but you get me. The one place we take a step back from the absolute elite production from last year

He is going to dominate this year imo

You can’t replace 3 and 4 with two people but we are doing it with like 6
