AQM AND GRACE DISMISSED FROM TEAM

Why would any recruit choose to play at Miami over another school when clearly we won't go to bat for them and clearly we'll throw them under the bus at the first hint of trouble?

Serious question. Not a good look when the school cares more about appearances in the newspaper than that do about the actual kids they're supposed to be teaching

Absolute moronic statement. How's Miami supposed to go to bat for these kids? They literally got free luxury car rentals that cause hundreds a day that equals well into the 4-figures in total benefits, if not more. I seriously question if some you should even be reproducing.

We have some for real dumbasses. If the headline was that they each received $10,000 would everyone have such a hard time understanding this ****?

If you idiots think this team is losing 5 games just stop being fans. No chance we lose more then 4. I'll put my account on it.

AQM is not a big deal. We have experience and talent at that position.

Grace hurts because that means we pretty much line up freshman at LB.

Well it shows that this school again dont give a dam about football, this is something so petty and they dismiss them horrible just horrible

They had to handle it or would you have prefered that the NCAA get a second chance after we embarrassed them last time?

You suspend them you dont dismiss them its too much

I agree that the punishment seems harsh but if they lied about it to Richt that would explain why.

I think the issue here wasn't that they lied to Richt but they lied to compliance and it sounds like they lied multiple times. We are on probation and still walking on egg shells after skating because the NCAA fvcked up. We couldn't afford that. Once compliance found out they got lied to it was a wrap.

Ok. That makes sense as compliance probably takes the lead.

I got 6 downvotes on saying 10 wins & a costal title is the goal any year. Wow, what happened to this fanbase. Pathetic

It's not completely realistic immediately, but definitely isn't our goal for the years to come.
Coastal title isn't a "goal" any year as you said. Currently Coastal title is the goal, but 2 years from now that will be an expectation, not a goal.

My way of looking at it would involve this outline of expectations:
By the end of Richt's 2nd season, we need to have at least won the Coastal once, beat FSU once, and win 1 bowl game.
By the end of Richt's 3rd season, we need to have Won the ACC and make it to one of the big time bowl's (Orange, Rose, etc)
By the end of Richt's 5th season, we need to have beaten FSU 3 times, and make it to a CFP game.
By the end of Richt's 7th season, we need to have won a National Championship.

Well IMO this is an illustration of what has been a problem here.
Players with A LOT TO PROVE not focused doing what they need to do and f.u.c.k.i.n.g off instead.
It's not like they haven't gone through a ncaa investigation and self bowl bands.

Leads me to question the intelligence of the players involved.

Dam man. Aqm is the true loss man. I never would have imagined this. We have Kool and depth, but Aqm was going to dominate this season. I dont know how in the world people are down on him after playing in a scheme that you would have to run laps if you got pressure. And who was his position coach last year? From FAU? Did anybody expect him to get 10 sacks with that situation? Aqm is better then Vernon imo, and will show it in the NFL. With an attacking system and Kool, he would have been another 1st rounder for Miami next draft no doubt! Would have been another pitch for d line recruits.

As bad as it hurts, I have all the faith in the world in Kool. Aqm was the guy i was most excited to see this year, but Willis was 2nd. Maybe this means more snaps for him. Im a big fan of Demitrius Jackson too. I Think hes still a year away but he can still provide a spark this year.

Oh well it's over. These idiots took free cars in exchange for future payment potentially. Their um careers are over. But in all honesty it's not the end of the world. Had it been kayaa we'd be ****ed.

This kids are told over and over again not to accept benefits. These guys knew the rules and they broke them. Next man up!

U say this while Calvin Ridley was given a 40k car....

Kids that have nothing will always accept free ****!

There is nothing wrong with using a student loan to buy a car. If Alabama is better at advising their athletes on this then don't blame them.

That's a joke of a response! U have to be trolling

To be fair, the position that AQM played in Golden's system was the one position that was designed to get to the QB. If we were talking Chad here, then I would agree but AQM's job when not covering slot WRs was to get to the QB.

I had a bad feeling on this ****. If these dudes had those $700 per day cars for anything more than a few days the total amount of impermissible benefits received probably completely disqualified them from reinstatement.

UM also probably didn't want this **** hanging around the program all year while they debated the length of the disqualification with the NCAA. That would be a drag for Richt to be answering that same question all year, and it would suck for the team too.

Then, if you don't trust the info you're getting from those two, you are probably also concerned that if they are eventually reinstated 7 or 8 games into the season maybe you find out after the season that they actually took more impermissible benefits and shouldn't have been able to play at all. Then, you have to forfeit wins and possibly lose a shot at the Coastal title.

It's a **** shame, and I completely understand the lure the players felt. It's pretty tough for a 19 or 20 year old to pass up rolling around in a Ferrari or a Lambo.

I really hope the State goes in on whatever adult it was who caused these guys to lose their eligibility. **** shame. I know the guys are culpable, but 19 and 20 year olds don't think like 30 and 40 year olds.

Well said.

Even if they were eligible for reinstatement where would they get the money to replay the value of renting luxury vehicles? The amount to reimburse could easily add up to thousands of dollars. Throw in lying during the investigation....done.

UM did the right thing to end this problem now, before the season started.

UM also did the right thing to allow AQM and Grace to continue their financial aid thru graduation.

I wonder if they will take advantage of the opportunity?

I never understand the argument that "these kids sacrifice their bodies for nothing"... last I checked, my non football stud self would have to pay a couple hundred thousand dollars to get a degree from UM. I'll count that as what they're getting for their services.

Sure at a private school like UM, ND, USC, etc.
Public State schools are five times cheaper if you're in-state though.
UM~$40k in tuition per yr
UF~$6k in tuition per yr
These guys were here though, and lets say it was a state school thats still 30 40k they don't have to cough up.

UM did what they had to do. The players screwed up.

It's a good thing that they aren't ******** the kids wrt their scholarships.

Lol why would this lame @ss university seek advice from the NCAA that clearly has a bias against Miami??? Lol I wonder what the NCAA wouldve "advised" Bama to do in the same situation?

/ UM is the NCAAs bxtch

You don't seek NCAA "advice," you dumb ****. I've been telling dopes like you what the process is. UM investigated, found out the possible extent of the impermissible benefits received, then consulted with the NCAA to determine the length of the loss of eligibility based on the amount of impermissible benefits received.

You're too dumb to realize you have no idea how long they were messing with those free cars. You also have no idea if Grace even has the financial ability to pay back the full amount of the benefits he received, which is a condition precedent to even being considered for reinstatement of eligibility.

Understand this simple fact, simp: Once it is determined that a player receives impermissible benefits he immediately loses his amateur status and you need to go through the NCAA to have it restored, if possible.

Do you dumb ***** really expect UM to ignore the fact that those guys lost their amateur eligibility? Just play them, then forfeit the wins? Play them after you know they took illegal benefits and implicate the institution for a loss of institutional control case? Those are your retarded suggestions?

This sums it up perfectly.

This!! God we lead the nation in DUMB fans!
They love acting like they are experts in dealing with the NCAA and just KNOW exactly how to deal with them and what the NCAA will or will not except.

I feel disappointed for those young men.. They knew the situation the Athletic Department/Team was in and decided to behave in a manner that could jeopardize the program's ability to compete. Very selfish and I can see why the decision was made. I think with a new regime and the way Richt wants to run the team this was a tone-setting decision. If a guy violates teams rules like Gurley and hurts himself that's one thing, but to put the program at risk, after everything we've been through, it's a different kind of selfishness.

Still 10 wins or bust.

Maybe AQM should have appreciated the opportunity to work with coach Kool and improve his craft instead of throwing that opportunity away doing something he knew would get him in trouble.
