These guys were here though, and lets say it was a state school thats still 30 40k they don't have to cough up.I never understand the argument that "these kids sacrifice their bodies for nothing"... last I checked, my non football stud self would have to pay a couple hundred thousand dollars to get a degree from UM. I'll count that as what they're getting for their services.
Sure at a private school like UM, ND, USC, etc.
Public State schools are five times cheaper if you're in-state though.
UM~$40k in tuition per yr
UF~$6k in tuition per yr
But compared to what the NCAA/AthleticDepts gain from these "student"-athletes, they get nothing. These Scholarships are free. The school doesn't lose money by letting 85 football players attend this school, especially when over half of them likely have the same **** major. Meanwhile college football is a billion dollar industry. Richt is getting payed $4M+ per year. He's making enough to cover the full tuition for all 85 players we are allowed to have on scholarship, and would have $600k to spare. Meanwhile these students are not allowed to make a single dollar off their own name.
If you believe these kids are getting market value, how come when they go on to become 1st round draft picks they sign million dollar deals? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that while they were in college they worked hard enough to be that valuable. So Artie Burns went from being worth 40k to being worth $10M
