AQM AND GRACE DISMISSED FROM TEAM

The way this University has continually shown that they will roll over instead of backing their players is ******ry at it's worst.

Why the **** would a blue chip recruit ever choose UM?

Back their players against the NCAA? How do you really think UM would fair in that situation? Do you want further scholarship reductions and post season bans? UM has no power here to "stand up for their players".

How does Alabama get away with guns and weed and we lose players over a rental car?
It's as simple as this: An arrest for a gun or weed doesn't involve your eligibility or amateur status. Taking impermissible benefits means you lose your amateur status and become ineligible.

Franchise if this is true about the amateur status how the **** is Juwon young playing for Marshall?? His amateur status should be gone right? Something stinks here

Juwon may not have been the worst offender when it comes to dollar amount, but he just probably lied like crazy and they caught him on it.

That's just my guess.

Doubt it from what I've seen young drive multiple times before

Lol why would this lame @ss university seek advice from the NCAA that clearly has a bias against Miami??? Lol I wonder what the NCAA wouldve "advised" Bama to do in the same situation?

/ UM is the NCAAs bxtch

You don't seek NCAA "advice," you dumb ****. I've been telling dopes like you what the process is. UM investigated, found out the possible extent of the impermissible benefits received, then consulted with the NCAA to determine the length of the loss of eligibility based on the amount of impermissible benefits received.

You're too dumb to realize you have no idea how long they were messing with those free cars. You also have no idea if Grace even has the financial ability to pay back the full amount of the benefits he received, which is a condition precedent to even being considered for reinstatement of eligibility.

Understand this simple fact, simp: Once it is determined that a player receives impermissible benefits he immediately loses his amateur status and you need to go through the NCAA to have it restored, if possible.

Do you dumb ***** really expect UM to ignore the fact that those guys lost their amateur eligibility? Just play them, then forfeit the wins? Play them after you know they took illegal benefits and implicate the institution for a loss of institutional control case? Those are your retarded suggestions?

The only post I have given an infraction on and up voted.

You should rescind that infraction as he is doing this board a favor by educating the masses.
I just can't believe how collectively ignorant our fan base is of how this works, especially since
this program has been very intimately involved with NCAA issues these last few years.

Thanks for the support, Carlos. It's laughable that the putz gave me an infraction for calling a dopey ****, who is baselessly trashing my school repeatedly and saying "fck UM", a ****. I take the time to dispel all this wild stupid hysteria, and he hangs an infraction on me. Meanwhile, cumbagface is running around the board trashing UM with impunity.

Seriously.

I've earned one or two today as well.

Yet multiple posts from others continuously trashing the U, based on their complete ignorance and lack of understanding of what happened.

I don't know why some of you think the kids should be able to receive benefits. Do you not realize if that is allowed to happen then Miami is done? We wouldn't be able to compete with big schools in the benefit game.

what the **** do you still think goes on..lol. We never competed in the benefits game....i htate the part of the fanbase that stick head in the sand that think this doesnt go on at EVERY PROGRAM..down to FIU. I mean at places like OSU, BAMA they give them
Jobs" at the car rental place. where they dont have to show up and get discounted rates

This sums it up perfectly.

Something that has been lost throughout these 22 pages of the sky is falling...

Both of these SAs are still RETAINING their university scholarship benefits...WITHOUT still meeting the qualifications (i.e. playing football) for said scholarship.

At the majority of D1P5 schools, they would be have had that portion also taken away.

It appears Richt is a man of his word in building character and trying to take care of his SAs even after they leave the program.

I have little doubt these two SAs retaining their scholarships to attend UM is all Richt's doing.

Disappointing situation, but its next man up.

The sky isnt falling.

Go Canes.

This also makes it pretty clear that UM did not decide this without clear direction and pressure from the NCAA. It sounds more like a Richt move than a Golden move, for sure AG would have just dumped them.

Fact is that we are still on probation. I fully support UMs decision on this matter. The situation sucks but the university did what it had to do.

We don't need anymore lost scholarships or post season bans.

There is a silver lining here. I've been able to send about 4 more useless posters to my ignore list.

Is he playing this year?

If the NCAA really wanted to be ****s about this, they could have gone after us as repeat offenders since we are already on probation. We were fortunate to walk away with having to dismiss the guilty parties and no additional penalties.

Lol... Dude used to drive a white Range Rover all the time on campus

I had a bad feeling on this ****. If these dudes had those $700 per day cars for anything more than a few days the total amount of impermissible benefits received probably completely disqualified them from reinstatement.

UM also probably didn't want this **** hanging around the program all year while they debated the length of the disqualification with the NCAA. That would be a drag for Richt to be answering that same question all year, and it would suck for the team too.

Then, if you don't trust the info you're getting from those two, you are probably also concerned that if they are eventually reinstated 7 or 8 games into the season maybe you find out after the season that they actually took more impermissible benefits and shouldn't have been able to play at all. Then, you have to forfeit wins and possibly lose a shot at the Coastal title.

It's a **** shame, and I completely understand the lure the players felt. It's pretty tough for a 19 or 20 year old to pass up rolling around in a Ferrari or a Lambo.

I really hope the State goes in on whatever adult it was who caused these guys to lose their eligibility. **** shame. I know the guys are culpable, but 19 and 20 year olds don't think like 30 and 40 year olds.
Spot on but I don't think the State can do a thing. NCAA rules were broken but I don't think any civil or criminal laws were broken. It's a shame though.
