it is called a student loan and is perfectly legal

They aint getting them cars with no student loans. Dont act like you dont know whats going on.

They are indeed using student loans to buy cars. It is very very common. Heck my wife did it when she was in college and she was on a full athletic scholarship.

How much is these student loans? Are they 30k?

A lot ot *****ing in here without anybody knowing facts. Fans just have tunnel vision due to the dismissal.

True. But what other top 25 team does this happen?

What other top 25 team is on probation?

Are we on probation now? I seriously don't know. All I know is it don't happen at top 25 schools period. And you think this is only happening because we are on probation?

Yes we are on Probation. And yes I strongly believe this would only be one or two game suspension if it wasn't for the probation. **** it wouldn't surprise me if it wouldnt be sweeped away but you can't take that chance on probation.

Again you're acting like if they have the money then everything is legal. They're getting told exactly how to do it. Who to see and it's all covered up impeccably by Bama's compliance department. If you think these kids just grab their cash and head out to any old dealer you're crazy.

Young men rent cars for free but return them safe and sound. Get removed from the team while Ridley is driving around in a brand new Camaro courtesy of Alabama and I never even so much as heard of an investigation. I agree with the punishment our guys should have known better, but there needs to be equal treatment throughout all of college football period.

Again you are wrong. Those cars are paid for with student loans and is perfectly legal.

You are blind.

Losing AQM is not really a big deal to me. He hasn't been really productive and we have alot of talent at DE. Probably our deepest position.

Losing Grace is a bigger deal but he's a senior and we would need to replace him next year.

Instead we are force to find his replacement this year.

All is not lost Canes Fam.

Just cause you havent been productive doesnt mean he wasnt going to be this year kool on deck

Stop comparing our car situation to illegal crimes. While the latter are FAR worse, one is breaking an NCAA rule and the other has nothing to do with the governing body of this amateur farce and instead is up to the individual oversight of corrupt schools. Many fans want to embrace the "bad boy" / "swagger" image of this program. Well guess what, that comes with other baggage.

This sucks, but time to look forward.

They're both big. Lol at not thinking losing AQM is a big deal. He's our best pass rushing DE since McDougal.

These kids receive enormous benefits already. They get a 200k scholarship to a prestigious college that many of them would have no chance of getting into without athletics, and on top of that they get a stipend for food and housing. Not to mention the chance to show the NFL you are a player for four years, these are not small or insignificant benefits.

Anyone who thinks we should follow FSU and Alabama's lead in trying to sweep everything under the rug should be ashamed of themselves. While this was not a particularly bad incident, if you start doing that you end up with people I would never want to be associated with on the team, people who can rape and steal and beat their girlfriends with impunity. At the end of the day this is a game, a game that I watch for entertainment, I do not want my entertainment to come at the expense of victims. That is why you don't start sweeping things under the rug.

This kids are told over and over again not to accept benefits. These guys knew the rules and they broke them. Next man up!

U say this while Calvin Ridley was given a 40k car....

Kids that have nothing will always accept free ****!

It's a regular. None of this is close to being **** in the world of college football. This is a very small piece of big time programs. It would've never been **** here either if not for juwons dumb *** hitting his ex. If he didn't whoop the girl than **** her friend she never would've called in & none of this would've came out.

They needs cars for internships during the summer. If a student goes to compliance and tells them he is trying to get a car and they advise him to take a student loan then I don't see the issue. Sure it isn't recommended they buy a 20k car with it, but the student has to make that decision.
