Even after the program just came off of major Scandal and probation the last 3 years?

they are lectured and instructed not to take improper benefits. some of these guys have been hearing this for years and were at UM during the investigation, hence they had a lot of awareness of compliance requirements and consequences of not following them.

they disregard their instruction and negotiate with the owner of exotic cars to allow them to use these cars in exchange for taking a cut or a promise to rent more cars when they get into the league

young cheats on his GF, GF gets ****ed and rats all of them out

they are confronted and they all lie about it, except perhaps coley and that's why he's spared

had they admitted their mistake, they would have been suspended a few games.

who is at fault here?

What about the owner?

UM is on probation until October. Get a clue about how serious it is to break rules (again) when you are still on probation. Quan has been a screwup since he arrived. Grace is the real loss but he brought it on himself. The only joke is your posting.

As soon as UM gets off of probation they need to fire that entire compliance department. What a ***ing joke they are.

More Idiots. First Quan got suspended for a year for getting into a fight. At what school does that happen? Sh:t like that happens on University campus routinely, so calling him a screwup is hyperbole.

Next what don't you understand about waiting until we get OFF PROBATION to make changes?

Jesus some of you guys are dense. Yes of course Bama, F $U, UF, Miss st. et al. Get away with hooking kids up with cars, cash, etc. Of course rape, guns, and drugs get swept under the rug. Have you ever actually been to Tuscaloosa, Tallahassee, Starkville, Gainesville? I have. The city IS the local college football program. Without it these cities are nothing more than cow towns with no economy or culture whatsoever. There's a built in network of business owners, law enforcement, school administrators, etc. Everything depends on keeping the football program afloat and as relevant as possible.

Now contrast that with the greater Miami/Ft. Lauderdale/WPB area. Sorry, but Canes football, as historically significant as it is, is just a very small cog in a large wheel with a million exclusive competing interests. There's no network of loyal police chiefs, chamber of commerce, and politicians who prioritize keeping heat off the UM football program. Sure, there are some big fans along those groups but no system to keep the crime and extra benefits off the NCAA radar. Everyone talks and everyone prioritizes THEIR own interest. South Beach luxury ****** rentals would do just fine with or without UM football. Joe Bob's luxury rentals in Starkville literally doesn't exist without MSU football. And guess what else. Jim Bob's brother in law might just be the chief of police.

Get it? The podunk $EC and even ACC college towns (hi Clemson) will ALWAYS have a network of hooking kids up and covering up their misdeeds that Miami has never had and never will. Not that we haven't tried (you guys would be shocked at **** that went down under Erickson) and we know how that turned out.
We will never ever get away with what Bama, FSU, etc. Do because those programs exist in an ecosystem where the football program is everything. Been that way for decades, always will.

We are going to at sometime this year have 3 freshman starting at linebacker if Owens doesnt take a spot.

Owner doesn't play OLB, DE or WR.
Who cares?

Well it shows that this school again dont give a dam about football, this is something so petty and they dismiss them horrible just horrible

They had to handle it or would you have prefered that the NCAA get a second chance after we embarrassed them last time?

How does Alabama get away with guns and weed and we lose players over a rental car?

We are on ****** PROBATION........does anyone understand what that means????? ****.

I understand. Truly I do. So observe the rules apart. Systems rigged bruh

How is it "rigged"? The players broke rules while we are on probation. The players then suffered the consequences of their own actions.Would you rather let them go free and clear and jeopardize the programs probation, other players who followed the rules future, undo everything positive that Richt and staff have done since they arrived, and all the recruiting momentum we would lose if we receive more sanctions over players stupid decision to get free rental cars and then lie about it? I just don't understand how some folks are always looking to blame for their own actions. It is not the system that is at fault. The players have to be smarter than this. You do understand that if we suffer any more sanctions in the near future-we will probably not ever recover. The program will fade away.

I agree the players need to be smarter about it.. And also that they should be held accountable for their actions as young men.. I never suggested they go "free and clear". But to imply ANY consequence suffered is deserved because a rule was broken is just not right man. Cocaine and crack are both illegal, but that doesn't justify exponentially harsh sentences for possessing the latter.

& If you see no bias against Miami as compared to Bama or LSU or Auburn.. Especially Re: situations like these... I dunno what to tell you.

It's a Canes thing...

All good tho man, no heat. Just WIN.

UM compliance didn't hand down these suspensions. If that was the case, this case would of been done months ago.

The NCAA made the call and dropped the anvil right before the season for a reason. This kills any momentum and buzz we had headed into the season. This didn't just affect two starters. This is a big time blow to the team.

I don't care how much talent we have... We are not winning with 3 green backers. Not happening. 6-6 is about right. GT, ND, and FSU are gonna be a doozy.

I understand all the criticism of the players here. They broke the rules, there should be consequences. However, based on what we know ... the punishment does not fit the crime. Again, I am saying this based on what we know.

For my sanity, Im going to pretend that AQM and Grace foolishly opted to enter the NFL draft after last season and that this did not actually happen right before the start of the season

And we probably don't know the entire story.
But let's just say people who run a business don't simply hook up athletes with exotic cars
out of the kindness of their heart.
We are not talking Enterprise rental dude hooking up his buddies with a Chrysler convertible
for the weekend.
There is probably more to this and it is better to not know and move on already.

I'm 7 pages in, and needed to pause from reading to say holy **** you guys are *****. All you crybabies have done for the past two years is trash AQM for not producing. Now you're acting like he's Reggie White and our season is over.

What a cavalcade of pvssies. ND has lost a bunch of starters. It happens. Auburn is losing a player per day.

We are deep on the DL. The Grace loss is big because of inexperience and depth at LB, but we can replace AQM production.

You can't give up on a fcking season because we lost a couple good players. Jesucristo you're soft.

It's petty?
Driving exotic cars around town that cost in the hundreds, even thousands, to rent and then lying about it?

Yes it is, have ya seen what the bama players and FSU players drive around???
