And our OOC isn't pathetic; at least we're going on the road against App State and traveling to Notre Dame. It could be much worse

Yeah, not sure why people are seemingly classifying Notre Dame as a conference game. It's not and it certainly doesn't benefit us (or the ACC) in any way for it to be portrayed as such.

I've had enough of Carolina after living there for 15 years, but if you like scenic mountain towns, Boone is hard to beat. For our players sake, I hope they don't still play on astroturf. I dorked up a guys knee on that field back in the day.

It is, but at least I get to go to the App State game, and I've heard Boone is really nice.

Beautiful town and area with lots of great outdoor activities. Some excellent restaurants, too. Its worth spending extra time if you can. I have a condo and like to visit when I can. Fly into Charlotte and drive from there.

They renovated their stadium in 2003 and it's now field turf so hopefully it's upgraded from what you remember. How's the Boone nightlife? Are there at least a few decent bars?

Good to hear on the stadium. It was bad like all astroturf fields. I was in HS when I spent time in Boone, so I never really went bar hopping there. And it was so long ago it could have changed anyway. But I'm sure there has to be some good bars. App State is a big party school. I kind of remember a little downtown college town type strip that had a lot of bars and restaurants, but I could be wrong.

I grew up about 40 minutes from there. Big party school but mainly house parties if I remember correctly. Still, there used to be and still should be a few decent ones.

Boone is a really nice place. Spent a few vacations there with the family as a kid and loved it.
