APP STATE

The bama game means nothing to me, it’s bama. The reason App was confident in 2016 is because 2 weeks earlier they lost to a top 10 Tennessee team in double OT. There was way to much hype for that game and Miami hit them in the mouth early. Yes ECU isn’t good but App could have won by 40+ if they wanted too they played third string in the 4th. I expect Miami to win this game by 2 tds I just don’t see a 50 point blow out. This isn’t a FCS team
What third stringer played in the 4th?

What gives you the idea that App could have won by 40 if they wanted when they only led by 14 at the half and 18 at the end of the 3rd quarter? Were the starters going to all of a sudden figure it out in the 4th quarter?

I'm not sure I watched the same game as some App St fans. It was 20-6 at the half. It wasn't as if App St was doing whatever they wanted all 1st half and was playing with ECU. ECU was giving them somewhat of a fight at times. What kept App St from blowing it open is their team speed is just too slow right now. I think Miami may feast simply because of the difference in speed between the two teams.

I didn’t mean it that way, I was told I was basing my decision on the app game being competitive on Miami losing badly to bama. So I meant that bama game didn’t contribute to that because Alabama is on a level by themselves. I am a Miami fan so obviously the game meant a lot to me

It was 33-9 when app started to take out their starters on defense in the 4th

There weren’t wholesale changes on defense and Peoples (the best player on the roster) was still getting carries with under 4 minutes left.
Yeah it wasn’t wholesale changes, they put third string rb in and wrs in and that’s when ECU cut it to 2 tds so people’s had to come back in

That’s not true. Peoples was getting carries when it was 33-9 on the possession before ECU scored with 2 minutes left.

Yeah you are right Castle came in at the end, they took Nate Noel out which was RB 1 for that game. It was mainly defense that subbed out

So their starters only built up a 24 point lead through 3.5 quarters, but if they didn't start subbing in depth players they could have easily won by 40+ if they wanted?

The math simply doesn't check out. Look, you are a Miami fan, you should know that the excuses you're trying to make don't change the truth of the matter. Remember when We only beat FIU 34-17 or whatever it was under Richt and we all made excuses that it wasn't as close as the score indicated, but it turned out we were a mediocre team that year.

I agree but App was not expecting to beat ECU by more than 2 tds. This was ECU’s year according to their fans because of how they closed out last season. Chase Brice threw a pic in the end zone which would have made it 40-9 in the 4th, I know chase is known for throwing pics so I didn’t surprise anyone. I wouldn’t say Miami or App looked like world beaters in game 1. I expect Miami’s speed and talent to be too much for App and also the heat and humidity will play a big factor as it’s been in the 40s and 50s in Boone this week.

This dude is either a troll or an idiot. I was at the game. App St was not impressive at all. I have a grad degree from ECU. I keep up with them and go to games every year. So when I tell you they are bad and have an awful defense, believe me. Bottom 10-20% in America. As I’ve said before if Miami doesn’t run away with this game it’s gonna be a long season.

Well every other delusional ECU fan expected to win that game

There are also people who think the world is flat and that App has a real shot this Saturday. It’s obvious you didn’t watch the game so I’ll tell you it was much closer than the final score.

Well the game was never in doubt besides the first score so that’s all that really matters. Game 1 means nothing for either team heading into this game. Miami has a lot more to play for in this game so I expect them to come to play, Can’t afford to go 0-2 and Diaz can’t afford to lose to App. Apps goal is to win the sunbelt and go to a ****** bowl so a win would be big for the program but doesn’t effect the seasons goals

Thank you. He’s still dodging the question I posed that he wouldn’t be posting in this thread had Miami beat bama or at least kept it close but then claims his prediction of a close game has nothing to do with how we played against bama yet he uses the “domination” of ECU as his primary crutch to why he thinks it will be close on Saturday night.

FOH!

I answered your question and I am a Miami fan, this is a thread about App state, I’m an alum and have gone to nearly every game since 2010 so I have some insight and not just watched the ecu game. I don’t know why saying Miami winning by 2 tds is so offensive

Don’t try and hedge now. Keep that same energy you had on page 1 where you were saying it will be a close game.

I remember the hype in 2016. Most of the app State fans expected to win. I even remember gameday playing clips of the Michigan vs. App state upset trying to elude that we were next.
