AP Top 25 Poll (11-17-19)

The Dawgs jump over Bama to #4 and the top three remain the same 1. LSU 2 Taint 3 Clemson. Two teams (Baylor, Minnesota) drop out of the unbeatens. Looks like there will be a fight for the fourth and final playoff spot.

Bama should have stayed at 4. Their loss was to a higher ranked team than UGA's.

Of course but then at least everyone else will have at least one completely objective path in. Let them argue that they deserve two of those at large spots then. Their credibility will take a hit when 5 years pass and their "mighty" conference doesn't win a championship.
There needs to be a more transparent process for selecting teams. Taking 5 conference champs is about as transparent as you can get. I would hope they would put measures in place that keep one conference from grabbing all three at large bids. Enough is enough.

the most fan support, TV ratings and money in college football is with the SEC ... this should not be too hard to understand even for SEC haters.

Not exactly true. The most money is in the Big Ten if we're talking alumni bases. Highest ratings? In 2018 only 3 of the the top 10 highest rated games involved SEC teams. Most fan support? That's a subjective criteria largely based on media narratives and inbred sports talk radio callers.

Extrapolating the stats out to the entire conference and factoring in the bottom dwellers is irrelevant when you were originally applying it to the Playoff.

Looking at the top 10 rated games (and their participants) would be of more interest to someone talking about the ratings for a potential Playoff game than considering conference wide tv ratings.

As far as conference attendance- That's no more impressive than the Big Ten dominating the top spots.

i won't keep on with this .... i know for a fact that the SEC is the cash cow for college football.

Neither Georgia or Alabama will be a factor as long as LSU beats Georgia. If Oregon and Utah win out and have an 11-1 vs 11-1 championship game, the Pac-12 winner is going to get in.

It probably is but I'd argue only because they chose (for a myriad of reasons) to push THAT conference upon the nation. College football itself is the cash cow. If they chose to create narratives and foster cultish behavior around another conference or even teams in select media markets then it'd work just the same.

You ever wonder why we heard soooooo much this season about DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPION Clemson's weak schedule but not so much about Baga's......even with a Clemson curbstomping of Baga fresh in our collective memories?

You want to know how pathetic the ACC is? They started the college football day on the ACCN with back to back basketball games. Everybody complains about schedules of other teams while absurdly forgetting to mention Clemson. This board is full of retards.

the ACC is a basketball conference .. another easy to understand fact

And I posted a screenshot of the page that it links to, and it is the AP poll.

Man, when you're stupid, you double down on it child
"posted a screenshot" ? LOL .... are you serious ? you're like a little monkey that won't let go of a shiny object and thats pathetic ! why are you so interested in something that is so irrelevant and meaningless ? get some help man
when it was first posted ... the AP poll was not on the page because it had not been released yet .. and besides that i don't really give a rat's *** and you really need to get your anal retentive and OCD problem treated .... now get lost.

Lol, someone is triggered.

I have zero interest in watching anybody from the SEC aside from the conference champion.

Baga backing in will be a complete joke as they'll be playing with house money at that point after not winning their conference and playing a junk schedule. They get worked in the Playoff and then what? Alllllllll the apologists and cultists will say it doesn't count because Saint Tua was out.

This is why we need to go to 8 teams. 5 conference winners and 3 at-larges. Let the freakin second SEC team take their automatic qualifier from one of those 3 spots instead of ******** two other conference champions. And then we don't also seed the thing so a team from the SEC is guaranteed to be in the championship game (as will happen this year if 2 get in) and thus continuing their myth of conference superiority.
Agree with the 8. Would settle for 6. 1&2 get a bye round 1.

Tra
Bama has won 5 national titles in the last 10 years under Saban... only ONE time in 2009 did they have an undefeated season.
the other four years they won ships with ONE LOSS.

Bama getting into the playoffs with one loss is definitely not unusual. this year will probably be no different.
Travesty if they get in without playing in conference championship game and without starting QB

you better hide ... the Bama haters will be coming after you .. LOL

the Dawgs lost to South Carolina which was UNRANKED
Have I told you lately how much I hate the Muthafvcken Georgia Bulldogs?

They're just going to find a way to put two SEC teams into the playoffs. Good luck to any team fighting for #4 that isn't in the SEC

Lies. Oregon at 12-1 with a most recent win over #7 Utah will be in. The same is true in reverse if it's Utah beating Oregon.

What people fail to recognize is that the chairman of the committee is Oregon's AD.
