The top brass will blame it on Jurich's *baggage* but fact remains there are too many cooks in the BoT kitchen, too many opinions, too many egos and too much pride to let an alpha roll in with full autonomy—hence no Jurich barring a miracle.

The best hope for Miami right now is that these dummies in the BoT at least have a majority in some Columbus alliance and reel in Highsmith and Cristobal—as that would be a grand slam based on UM's general incompetence.

The “Miami Culture” thing is BS.

An experienced AD like Jurich will know how to learn and navigate the dynamics/politics at Miami.
I think the Miami Culture, at that level, is straight up corruption. They don't want an outsider sniffing around and making waves. Why else shoot down everyone that doesn't get the "Miami culture"?

Mack Rhoades was my guy but of course he never got a mention.

You act like he's some hidden gem or diamond in the rough; dude was literally named SBJ's Athletic Director of the Year for 2021 and he's doing great things as Baylor with a monster budget. He could get a dozen better jobs than Miami tomorrow if he wanted to leave Baylor.

This is the same as our fans not realizing that Danny White had a better job at Central Florida than he would've at Miami—and that he was only leaving Orlando for a better job, which he took when Tennessee lured him away.

Per Rhoades' bio: "In May of 2019, as part of the Baylor Athletics Master Plan portion of the university’s $1.1 billion “Give Light” campaign, Rhoades announced the department would build a new $105 million basketball fieldhouse following the largest current gift in the university’s history. An anonymous lead gift will spearhead the Baylor Basketball Pavilion to provide an electric atmosphere for the department’s national championship-winning basketball programs.

Rhoades has led national searches for four head coaching positions during his time at Baylor, ultimately bringing to Waco, Matt Rhule (Football) in 2016, Casie Maxwell (Equestrian) in 2017, Brian Boland (Men’s Tennis) in 2018, Dave Aranda (Football) in 2020 and Nicki Collen (Women’s Basketball) in 2021. He also promoted Michael Woodson to head coach during the men’s tennis team’s postseason run to a national runner-up finish."

Mack Rhoades already has a better job at Baylor than he would at Miami. End of story.

Jurich has been unemployed for the past 4 years for a reason.

Jurich has an open FBI investigation. He left Louisville w one coach who fvcked coeds in diners and one who went on tv in a c collar covered in bruises to explain an affair.

Nobody is hiring him.

Just my opinion: Let's not get too worked up over AD, as the only thing we're really interested in is the ON FIELD product. Question is, will the next AD term Diaz and swing for the fences on a coach to take the program to the next step. If that guy can do that, he is pretty much irrelevant to football operations other than fundraising.

But if we get a beta AD who is optics and fiscally frugal, or another puppet.... we're in the thick stuff for another 8 years.
An AD is only as good as the money he’s given.

Quit trying to convince yourself otherwise.

Guy from New Mexico because he's "from Miami" and "knows the culture"?

Former players because they "know this []_[]" and "put on the cleats" "knows what it takes"?

**** you.

Perfectly qualified administrator with a past of building and developing an athletic department, and wants the job, and you're not going to pick that guy?

Anything less than him, and it signifies that Miami is as unserious and uncaring as Kirk Herbstriet called them out for.

Quit being pathetic Miami. For once, get out of your own way.
I definitely think Jurich is the best available. However, the decision makers don't care about that. They want one of their people that they can control.

That is a true statement…. But cannot be applied to Blake James’ time at Miami
Oh but it can.

Ruiz: “what do u need? Money isn’t an option.”
Blake: “we good.”

Epstein: “Here’s $1m for Richt to hire some decent coaches on his O”
Blake: “We Good”

We can obviously go on and on.
